That leaves no one to piss on it though. Must be wrong.

But who will make stylish boots out of it?
That wouldn't have gone down well with the opposition. Especially since it implied she was connected with the old government.
Speculation of course. Might just be rioters being rioters.
That quote from the ambassador has been utterly misinterpreted..as I pointed out in another thread:
In the context of the conversation, if you listen to it, I think that the diplomat was not saying "fuck the EU" in general, but more in the context of getting assistance in conflict resolution. She was talking about seeking assistance from the UN, but "fuck the EU" because they haven't been helpful thus far and probably won't be in the future with the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
So, I don't see much of a problem with what she said. People are only angry with the way she said it. In context, however, "fuck the EU" meant "don't bother with going to the EU for help."

But who will make stylish boots out of it?
that's a job for the local bootsmith

Yeah I noticed that, I was wrong. Thanks for giving more constructive feedback than the other guy though.
I never watched the video before now. I only read the transcript.

Their contingency plans only account for two headed sasquachi.
she wasn't an ambassador you nitwit and she certainly doesn't represent the State Department as a whole nor any large portion of it
I've addressed that 2 times already. I was mistaken, apologies.
I have edited the original post.
Better safe than sorry aside.
Why would anyone go for the us embassy?
I think Ukraine is joining the United States of America!
I would say one US Marine has more training, equipment and capabilities than even a four man squad of Ukrainian police officers. Nine US Marines can do a lot more than you might think. And that's not even including the military personnel already stationed there.
What if they set up the bomb?
America really doesnt have much to do with current events though.
i think we're probably involved with the EU who are supposidly working with the provisional goverment to help the transition, i wouldn't say we aren't involved in this somehow, but with russia bearing down on ukraine we have to be very careful in how we intervene lest the russians go crazy
john steward's guest put it best, we need to work our effort into convincing russia that this is a good thing for them, so putin can get a win out of this and keep his powerbase stable

TBH america has a lousy history of taking care of embassies in the middle of political uprisings, obama is probably doing everything it takes to avoid another bengazi-like attack
Clearly this is part of a US plot to control Ukraine and destroy those pesky Ruskies! Just like that other time!
The sad thing is that people actually believe this
If they fire a shot they will just escalate the situation.
Those marines are just there to dissuade people from trying.
If they shoot at rioters then they are either dead or the US will have a massacre on their hands.
Actually, the crowd would be warned several times that they would be receiving 5.56x45mm copper-jacketed packages of lead candy before anything actually happened. Marines guarding embassies are not just some random marines with a combat MOS, they're picked specifically because they're not fuckups. They'll wait until there's danger before issuing a warning and when the situation sours even further they'll begin to take less-lethal action if they can. Embassy guards meet a threat with an appropriate response, shooting people only happens if there's an immediate, highly lethal threat outside, the compound is breached by armed assailants, or an evacuation needs to be covered.
I want to be clear here, the security force at a US embassy is not there to do anything other than protect that embassy. They're not going to go out fighting in the streets, they're not going to stop protestors from being nearby, or people being shitheads nearby. They are going to take action the moment anyone threatens the embassy, and will respond with just enough force to make that threat go away or allow them extract personnel safely.
If the protestors wanted to destroy something for the sake of it, wouldn't they need more than 9 marines?
Look at the training the Marines go through then the extra training for embassy security, you'd be surprised on how well they can do. They could defend the embassy until reinforcements arrive.
What if she wanted to have sex with it.
Throwing a sausage down a hallway would be a understatement then.
If the protestors wanted to destroy something for the sake of it, wouldn't they need more than 9 marines?
No. In fact 9 marines is overkill. U.S. Marines are notorious for not giving a fuck about the rules.
If the protestors wanted to destroy something for the sake of it, wouldn't they need more than 9 marines?
Probably. But it only takes one dead marine for the protestors to lose the war. Americans are vengeful fuckers.
Considering what happened in Benghazi, it's understandable for the US to take precautions. Benghazi was a PR nightmare

Where Russia goes, America will follow. And vice versa.
Wasn't there a movie about a United States embassy being attacked by angry rebels in a fictionalised political unstable movie?
Wasn't there a movie about a United States embassy being attacked by angry rebels in a fictionalised political unstable movie?
You mean Argo? Pretty sure that was based on actual events.
Wasn't there a movie about a United States embassy being attacked by angry rebels in a fictionalised political unstable movie?
Second in Command, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
I'm pretty sure that entire embassy can be defended with only 1 Marine.
http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/ukraine-crisis/marines-deployed-guard-u-s-embassy-kiev-n38331
Sounds like they are expecting trouble.
Well, considering the last embassy incident got a SEAL killed, I think maybe the assclowns in the higher-up learned something.
The US marines would not shoot Ukrainians
Yes they would. Last time we didn't open fire on angry rebels storming the embassy, back in '79, the embassy workers got taken prisoner and it turned into a massive public incident. We've learned a lot since then. The bottom line is that the embassy is our territory, and if people encroach on it with violent aims, we defend with force.
Considering what happened in Benghazi, it's understandable for the US to take precautions. Benghazi was a PR nightmare
Yeah, people complained about hoe "Benghazi had no security!" and "A Navy Seal died!". Guess who was the fucking security? The fucking Navy Seal and the rest of his PMC unit.
The argument should have at least been "They should have had more guards" instead of "Omg they had none!"
If they shoot at rioters then they are either dead or the US will have a massacre on their hands.
Hahahahahahahahaha! My friend, they would neither be dead, nor have a massacre on their hands.
"International rules do not allow representatives of the host country to enter an embassy without permission --even to put out a fire -- and designate an attack on an embassy as an attack on the country it represents."

Lol. Outsiders are not even allowed to enter without permission if the damn embassy is on fire. I have no idea what kind of punishment one could receive for simply being there without permission, but I have a pretty good idea of what would happen if someone happened to lob a Molotov cocktail at it............. I'm pretty sure it would be a US Marine dying...... So that leaves dead protesters who had the balls to throw fire a 9 Marines. I don't consider that a massacre.
I think Ukraine is joining the United States of America!
I realize it was a joke, but they're welcome to if they so desire. They seem like nice people.
