Ever heard of Alt accounts?
Hello. I was here in 05.
You're an ass.
Facepunch was never that retarded.
Okay bye.
Some people must think that there's an unlimited amount of money in circulation. If that were the case, we'd all be rich. Since it isn't the case, spending any of the money would be stealing. The money most likely doesn't actually exist, but if you spend it, it has to come from somewhere.
So what would I do if I experienced a technical error for five hours? Wait for someone to fix it.
I feel like I'm stating the obvious. In fact, I'm pretty sure I am.

You are, but FP can still dream.
Would the ATM still withdraw the money? I mean if it was just a display error, does the ATM read the users amount from some other source or simply what the machine says at any given time?
Were you here in 06?
Yes in fact i was, and you'd be called an idiot then too.

Your current balance is: $88,888,888,888.88
Guy: I'll take it all....in twenties....
People walk by, theres just a guy standing in front of an ATM looking like this...

I would've transferred it and then stall Suntrust as long as possible with lawyers since every day it would collect interest.. 88 Billion dollars, 2 to 7 days interest at the new bank... That could be quite a large amount of dough
That's technically not stealing, right? Since they will get the money back... But the interest is mine... Mine.. MINE!
Eight is his lucky number.
For five hours.

I'd imagine you'd have problems when you tried to transfer 88 billion to another bank.
Well hopefully the same group of people that allowed such a big mistake to happen would still be working

I doubt you could get 10000 dollars out of an ATM. You would have to go around from ATM to ATM just clearing out the machine to even get a fraction of the money out before they noticed something was wrong. And maybe the error was just on that particular machine.
I'd imagine you'd have problems when you tried to transfer 88 billion to another bank.
I'd only transfer a few million, 1 billion at the most. You don't NEED 88 BILLION dollars. Making yourself the richest person on earth over night would cause a shitload of unwanted attention, not to mention you would bankrupt the bank, and probably cause a rift in the economy by doing so.
Transfer like, 1 billion to a Swiss bank account, then jet off to a foreign country before anyone found out.

you think the bank is just going to transfer 1 billion without question?
In chinese culture, 8 is considered the luckiest number.
you think the bank is just going to transfer 1 billion without question?
Hmm, true. Maybe transfer it in small amounts?
you think the bank is just going to transfer 1 billion without question?
If it were the Swiss, yes.
I'd withdraw most of it as soon as possible and flee the country.
I would have walked into the bank and tried to withdraw everything.
Though, if you really wanted to make some money, you could just run around to various ATM machines withdrawing whatever the limit is. You won't come close to putting a dent in the money before they tag your card as suspicious and prevent any further withdrawals, and it's really not worth getting in permanent trouble with the law over that few grand you might get. You won't get a dime out of an actual bank teller, nobody will believe this unwashed schmuck that just got out of his Honda and walked in off the street is actually a billionaire.

One of the best Austin Power jokes yet. :golfclap:
First pun I whole-heartedly laughed at.
Why, thank you.
If I had this money and coincidentally was an ATM, I'd withdraw as much as I could in cash and then hide it under my mattress. They won't miss a few thousand in 88 billion.
I think 88 Billion would make him the richest man in the world, so I doubt anyone would be believe him when he tried to transfer.
If i had close to 89 mil in my account for five hours, i'd be too afraid to spend it.

Mr. Fischer had other ideas as well. Before the problem was fixed, he asked a SunTrust rep if he could move the money to an interest-bearing account until it was reclaimed and donate the interest to charity. Total interest: more than $7.3 million.
The bank said no.
Why?
Bank = Gay for taking all of it back.
Can you explain how a building is attracted to anything in the first place?
Or are you just a homophobe?

Or he uses gay as a negative term.
Then we can't call each others bitches too, because we're not female dogs.
Or dicks, because we can't be a big sexual organ.
Can you explain how a building is attracted to anything in the first place?

Unless you have been living under a rock for your whole life, the term 'Gay' has always and will always be used as a derogatory term.

Gummylamb said it best.
Simple, it took away his money therefore it is a sexual preference for men

Why?
Because the money was never his to invest, and the bank can't just magically make $7,300,000 appear from thin air to give to him for interest.
What would you do with the money? The ground rules are that you would have to give the money back — and whatever you bought or invested with it — after five hours
Hookers and blow.
Just think, of the possibilities, you could get one $88 billion hooker, or 88 billion $1 hookers.
How can some one or thing fuck up that bad. :P
