Vocativ found more than 5,800 people tweeted the phrase — a five-fold increase from the day before — and 1,745 people tweeted about it between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. London time, when the results were announced.
TNM updated its official Facebook page, which is followed by more than 200,000 people, with a cover photo that showed the Texas flag overlaid by the #TEXIT hashtag.

You won't be missed
these secessionists are fucking dumb, there's next to no real support for this in our state and it certainly wouldn't surge over a trump loss
he is not exactly well liked here
good luck since the constitution disallows succession and the federal government would fuck your shit up beyond belief
Texas succession would give me a pretty good excuse to move out. Though it's not going to happen, it's just a few crazy idiots. Also "if trump fails", we weren't exactly fond of Trump here, Texas voted for Cruz in the primaries.
Yeah seceding isn't a real movement here, you have to be the ultimate nut job to legitimately support it. This isn't an actual thing.
Texans lean almost libertarian in general and do not like Trump. The assumption that just because we're "the redneck state" we're all raving ultraconservative Trump supporters who will secede if that fossil loses is pure ignorance
Keep in mind Trump only got 25ish% in the Republican primary here vs Cruz's 50ish% and that doesn't mean 25% of Texans voted for Trump or even that every Texan who did vote for Trump really likes him.
The majority of people I know are even in favor of gay marriage, but do not think churches should be forced to marry gays if they don't want to (which is a variation in opinion that opinion polls don't account for), and I think that's fair.
I assume a lot of the people tweeting this are the same band of Texas secessionists who would call for it if Trump won anyway.
If Trump doesn't win then they're better off leaving and building their own wall instead of allowing the flow of countless illegal immigrants to continue.
Ironically they'd be making America safer from illegals too.
Hah, Texas, the problem is that you literally can't leave without the rest of country allowing it. It doesn't matter if you hold your own votes and referendums because they don't actually matter. All states have to agree to let you leave.

We have both a wall and a river already.

I knew you'd stick your head in to spout some inane thing about illegal migration, but why don't you take a moment to read one of the many, many, articles explaining why the wall is retarded and won't work.

Mexican immigrants are not damaging Texas's economy in the slightest, they have no reason to leave.
As a Texas citizen, succession for us is fucking stupid and also illegal.
Anyone who says "but Texas has that right!!!" is historically inept.

About that, leaving the union is apparently entirely impossible (not counting using force and those metal pewpew things). Relevant segment starts at 1:46

Sidenote: As a filthy European, this is all the knowledge I have about Texas and its relation with the rest of the USA, so do correct me if I'm wrong

Walls work. Just ask Israel, Hungary or East Berlin.

Texas is just another state just like every single other US state.
It's just that it started out as its own country rather than a territory of hte US before statehood nearly 200 years ago that has modern day Texans believing they're somehow special to the rest of the nation.
Can we get a Flexit vote going?
I've always been a fan of the idea of giving Texas back to Mexico if they secede. Maybe I'll take a vacation and go visit the Monumento Nacional de Santa Anna at the Alamo.
Why is it always Texas? I know its just a few idiots, but I haven't seen anyone from other states trying to do this.

It's a common misconception that we have the right to succeed. Couple that with this idea of "Texas Culture" (for better or worse) and our strong economy, and it's really easy to rally ignorant people behind the notion.
I think the actual right we have left-over is the ability to break up into 5 separate states if we wish.
Can we stop this shit, it's not going to happen, there simply isn't the will and the people who are anti-secession are simply too violent to even bother trying.

The thing that really sets Texas apart is the fact it has it's own electrical grid independent from the rest of North America and a shitload of Oil, and the fact it's 98% self-sufficient.
Also statehood was only a 160 years ago, and Texas as the modern political entity was born out of Secession of Tejas from the State of Coahuila y Tejas, and the United Mexican States.

EH they all pop up from time to time. I remember parts of Colorado and California(Jefferson) wanted out too(though this may have been for gerrymandering purposes.

Because Texas is the only state in the country with genuine state-pride that actually drowns out American patriotism.
Also we pretty much hate the rest of the Country including the South, but especially California.

I thought Colorado was a joke, and Jefferson is about seceding from California , not the United States.

Five counties in colorado voted for it, I don't know if I'd call it a joke. And Jefferson you may be right.
There's actually a whole list of areas that have tried to secede from wherever they are.

Jefferson usually gets lumped in with Cascadia, which is calling for the Pacific Northwest from northern California to British Columbia to secede and create an independent nation.
Obviously, this movement is even more fringe than the Texan one.
"Texan Pride" has been a thing for as long as I can remember. Even my sister who is like 99% Hispanic/Latina went through her "I love Texas" phase (which I'm not entirely sure she ever got out of.)
It's just a really super silly way to pretend like we're "separate" from the rest of the States.

Lots of states have resources exclusive to their region. Also in terms of years, 160 is pretty much "nearly 200" as I said.
Where its from is irrelevant. It's still a dozen life times ago.
Texas is just another US state. It's just that there's some that don't like that fact when they're reminded about it.
good luck since the constitution disallows succession and the federal government would fuck your shit up beyond belief
no but the military would support the revolt, also armed citizens
dont mess with texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do it, take the biggest reddest piece of the US and leave. The amount of refineries and pipelines that will need to be rebuilt will keep construction workers busy for a few decades
A texit would basically give the Democrats control of the US government indefinitely
