Respect the Saudi culture. This is what they believe and you're ignorant to say it's wrong.
Well the saudi culture and people as a whole don't necessarily agree with it.
Allahu Akbar. Today is a victory for Allah, for His glory has been protected once more.
what the fuck
people still believe this shit
Heh, religion.
Reminds me of the situation in Nigeria.
Burn her for all the people she turned into newts!
In Jawf? Isn't there only like desert in Jawf?
They asked for it! They're up for real spells now.
Makes me wish some country would roll in with their magic fire sticks and liberate the shit out of them but I know it wouldn't do any good.
[She] had tricked people into giving her money, claiming that she could cure their illnesses
If that's true then she deserved punishment. Murdering her instead of fining/jailing her is terrible though.
She was likely offering "Magical" healing which would go against the religion.
It's Allah's will that you get sick, and it's his will that heals you.
Only ONE wife? WIIIITCH. Wait a minute..
She was likely offering "Magical" healing which would go against the religeon.

Using something as silly as religion to base your laws on is one of the reasons that area of the world is such a joke.

See, if anyone tried doing that they'd call it a monopoly on medicare. You get people ill so they come to you for treatement, and take out any competition with hired goons.
Allah is the ethereal equivalent of Apple.

I'm so glad your post ended how it did. I was about to flip my shit until you said she didn't deserve to be murdered, phew!
Using something as silly as religion to base your laws on is one of the reasons that area of the world is such a joke.
Here's the thing.
This is NOT in the law. A select few of the extremist clergy actually hold a lot of power (and a lot of ears) due to nothing more than ancestry, even if they dont hold any formal political or judiciary power.
It's not the country that is backwards. It the people controlling the people who run it.
One more thing. The middle east is not a joke. It's the site of the greatest economical growth in recent times. It kept growing even during the minor recession. They have to be doing somethings right.
-snip-
In that country a woman uttering anything can get her arrested and/or killed.
No. Not really.
The cases against women that appear so much in the news are ones of women that had the great misfortune of offending some extremist clergymen (Very fucking easy to do) or of a woman who had the clergy sicced on her by a person with a malicious agenda
You snippy bastard.
Using something as silly as religion to base your laws on is one of the reasons that area of the world is such a joke.
Religion is a basis of many morals and laws all over the damn world, it's just that it's much more extreme here
("here" as in saying the Middle East)
The men will be screwed when the women leave.
The men will be screwed when the women leave.
If I am informed correctly many already screw each other.
Did anyone even read the whole post? She was tricking people into paying her and she would "cure" them through "magic".
Edit: Oh wow, took until the second page.
What may be a bit twisted is that they know witchcraft is bullshit. They execute people anyway because pretending/imitating such is forbidden. Same with tarot-cards. But honestly, execution is quite odd, even for Saudi Arabia. There is obviously more to this story that isn't being reported. She must have pissed off someone powerful.
Monkeys..
As a wizard and sorcerer I'm offended because what she did doesn't qualify as witchcraft or sorcery. :(
Woo moralising and legislating taboos, looks like they we still have something in common with them
