This must be some kind of fucked up ARG that no one understands.

EA and Valve represent 2 factions.
EA always try to spread their stuff.
Valve are trying to get rid of EA from their land.
EA are the combine, Valve are the rebels.
I think you're onto something here.

EA and Valve represent 2 groups.
EA always try to spread Origin.
Valve are trying to get rid of EA from their galaxy.
EA are the Ori, Valve are the SG-1.
I think you're onto something here.
It might just be a contract mix-up, EA did say it was apparently an agreement that Crytek had with another company, which means they only act as representatives. Although this doesn't explain why the Alice game was taken out of the store.
Even though I love Valve far more, I can't really choose a side until they release some goddamn information.
So let me get this straight.
EA want's to sell games on both Origins and Steam but Steam is trying to remove EA games so it's an Origin exclusive.
And EA is the bad guy?
All I want is BF3 on Steam :frown:
not happening
Valve is getting pushed over.
Tell EA to fuck off.
How are they getting pushed over?
Whoopie. Alice is back on Steam.
WHERE THE FUCK IS CRYSIS 2?
:psyboom:

EA violated it's contract with Steamworks.

At any local retail shop.
I'm a Steam Boy, and I think Origin is just a smack in Valve's face. They shouldn't have ANY EA games on steam, in my opinion.
This is the reason it happened EA violated A rule imposed by valve so they took it off the market place here's a quote from Gamasutra.com
[Update: EA has issued a response to the game's removal, saying that it was "not an EA decision or the result of any action by EA," saying instead that the game was removed because an agreement that developer Crytek made with "another download service" violates an unspecified rule Steam has for its distribution partners.
Valve has not responded to requests by Gamasutra for clarification. An EA spokesperson provided this statement to Gamasutra:
"It’s unfortunate that Steam has removed Crysis II from their service. This was not an EA decision or the result of any action by EA.
Steam has imposed a set of business terms for developers hoping to sell content on that service – many of which are not imposed by other online game services. Unfortunately, Crytek has an agreement with another download service which violates the new rules from Steam and resulted in its expulsion of Crysis II from Steam.
Crysis II continues to be available on several other download services including Amazon, GameStop and Origin.com."]
I really don't understand what is going on. If anything this has confused me more.
That is why I buy the hard copy of games, so when I start it up through steam it says "Asiansniper911 is now playing BFBC2Updater" or "Asiansniper911 is now playing Crysis2Launcher" I play updaters and launchers all the time.

You can rename those...
Is Origin the new EA Download Manager?
I'm still curious as to why Crysis 2 was removed, in detail.
I think they want to people to buy games from there origin thing instead of steam so they are taking they more popular games off of steam.

Valve took Crysis 2 off Steam because of Crytek, EA had nothing to do with it.
I still can't believe I got Alice on Origin the day before in came out on Steam. :argh:
yeah, shoulda figured that out earlier if I played TF2, and the horrible release of Portal2.
Woah Woah woah! Did you just call portal 2 horrible?
How is a game Origin-exclusive and on Steam?
"EA Partners and Spicy Horse Games appreciate Steam’s decision to sell Alice: Madness Returns," said the company. "The game is also available on several other download services including Amazon, Gamestop and Origin.com."

and Origin.com.
ahahahahaha
Woah Woah woah! Did you just call portal 2 horrible?
he called the release of portal 2 horrible
aka the whole arg fiasco
he called the release of portal 2 horrible
aka the whole arg fiasco
It was quite a smart arg though, sell some indie games to speed up portal2 release by one whole day.
The arg was fun and all but the end result was bullshit.
The arg was fun and all but the end result was bullshit.
In the end it achieved what they wanted it to, sell potato sack games
I'd rather EA games were on steam. I don't want to have to deal with bitching and moaning, I'd much rather download Alice on steam than dick around with EA's shit.
Or Valves shit. Whatever is going on.
In the end it achieved what they wanted it to, sell potato sack games
If you worked your ass on the potato sack games, you'd have received the Valve Complete Pack which is a real benefit (money wise atleast)
EA violated it's contract with Steamworks.
And Valve is bending the consumer over and reaming them up the ass by having the contract the way it is
We're not EA or Valve, we shouldn't care who is wronging who here. We should care who is wronging US (currently, it's Valve)
Well since you seem to know what the contract is, mind explaining it to us?
