The Bible is the following A story book for kids to sleep. A way for them to PROPERLY live life in there times. And a bunch of Opinions that people put in story form. Not much more or less. God said being gay is a sin. But he also said to "Love thy neighbor". If we hated gays because they "sinned", then we'd have to hate [b]everyone in the world[/b]. I know there's a scripture in Proverbs that says to discipline your children, but that's really just basic parenting advice. I don't really remember a scripture saying "you must own slaves" or anything like that. I'm not going to follow the parts of the bible that cannot be followed in today's modern society and are impractical and rejected by today's way of living. If this "own slaves" thing is true, as you say it is, well then no, I'm not going to follow it because in our country today, we do not have the same practices as the people back then. There's going to be differences in the bible because yes, it is old, and some parts are outdated. I'll probably get tons of shit for this post, but I'm just curious, I suppose. I'm not going to try and argue because I learned that FPers can be extremely stubborn.

He didn't want them to get diseases from these creatures and therefore, told them that they are foul creatures that should not be eaten. But since we have ways of preventing disease in eating animals like these in today's society, I would imagine that we don't have to strictly adhere to his "dietary laws".
