I like the part where I don't give a fuck that there's a single example of an exception to the rule. Good job resorting to Call of Duty Clones. There are totally so many out there, its not visual novels are actually a genre and that actually means they adhere to certain respective rules. I'd love to read the Sci-fi Lovecraftian Visual novel.
I'm only parroting what you say but changing some of the words. Trying to give you some perspective on how stupid you guys look when you generalize something you don't understand. Much like politicians do when they want to ban your video games. And I'm sure there's one out there.
Also, just looked up some stuff.
In Japanese terminology, a distinction is often made between visual novels proper (abbreviated NVL), which consist predominantly of narration and have very few interactive elements, and adventure games (abbreviated AVG or ADV), which may incorporate problem-solving and other types of gameplay. This distinction is normally lost outside Japan, where both NVLs and ADVs are commonly referred to as "visual novels" by international fans. Visual novels and ADVs are especially prevalent in Japan, where they made up nearly 70% of the PC game titles released in 2006"
Source
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, released in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten (Japanese: 逆転裁判 蘇る逆転?, lit. "Turnabout Trial: Revived Turnabout"), is an adventure video game published and developed by Capcom in Japan, North America, and Europe, and published by Nintendo in Australia.
Source
All video games nowadays are just Call of Duty clones too and that isn't a generalization either.
Really? Are you really going down straw grasp ave.? "All video games are just CoD", that's right folks, you heard it here! Bejewelled is now CoD! FIFA? CoD! lmao anime fans are the funniest shit.

For american audiences they are basically the same thing.
Disgaea infinite?
I don't actually know the medium beyond what I've seen from friends and the occasional lurking in the Visual Novel megathread. I'm not outside being wrong, but so far I haven't seen much that's proven me wrong. I don't care if there is incest inside the visual novels and other weird shit. What I care about is the fact that its found to be rewarding to do these things in a completely straight faced manner. [editline]7th October 2013[/editline]
You do know, that you pretty much proved his point right? For american audiences they are basically the same thing.
Just because audiences outside of where the cultural item came from actually don't realize their wrong doesn't mean they're right. Its like any American who calls themselves an Otaku. In Japan, that's a massive insult. If anything, it shows their thorough misunderstanding and casualization of a culture.

So he is right by the American perspective, but he is overall wrong now due to he isn't thinking from a Japanese perspective?
People who deny that anime is weird are really disturbed.
We enjoy it because it's weird. Get with the times.

Which is insulting to any person whose Japanese.
How disappointing. Wind Waker is one of my favorite zeldas, and I thought the remake was pretty good :/
I'm saying he's wrong because he's cherry picking a culture, which visual novels show is going through massive pains, to fit his own little bubble.
I guess we should stop using our own terminology for things, you know like what languages do to be able to localize things?
Yeah but in this case, we already have collector which is a rough translation of otaku. And Phoenix Wright is advertised and listed as an adventure game. They don't have an excuse.
I really hope you are not allowed near children, the fact that you exist is awful.
What...? I'm not even in to lolicon.
Yeah but in this case, we already have collector which is a rough translation of otaku. And Phoenix Wright is advertised and listed as an adventure game. They don't have an excuse.
I wonder what would happen if you were to remove the visual novel tag on phoenix wright ace attorney on wiki then. Heck the video game genres page has Phoenix wright listed as a visual novel, it isn't an uncommon opinion.
Yeah but in this case, we already have collector which is a rough translation of otaku. And Phoenix Wright is advertised and listed as an adventure game. They don't have an excuse.
If you've played visual novels, you'd have easily noticed that Phoenix Wright plays exactly like a visual novel. Changing the name doesn't change anything. Rojo is red in Spanish, but those two words mean the same thing. And before you comeback that I'm calling adventure games, visual novels; know that it's not a two-way street. An adventure game can be a visual novel, but a visual novel does not imply that its an adventure game.
Now first of all, I don't watch any anime, and I've never heard of this anime/game up until now. But why the fuck bother getting upset over (implied) incest in some fucking japanese cartoon. It's like it's your first day on the internet or something. This is probably like an E for Everyone game in Japan. I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather have some dude get his weird fucking fetish fix in a videogame, than going out and fucking his sister IRL. P.S. Windwaker is a cool game, but of course it's gonna sell like shit if all you're doing is adding bloom.
People who deny that anime is weird are really disturbed.
Unless you're referring to just this anime that's a really sweeping statement. It's like saying "People who deny that movies are weird are really disturbed."
Except the generalizations that Visual Novels are usually creepy/cheaply done romances that end in some weird way or just hentai games isn't a generalization.
Not every VN is an Eroge, or is Ace Attorney just a fucked up hentai game?
Windwaker is a cool game, but of course it's gonna sell like shit if all you're doing is adding bloom.
They also added a hard mode, improved first person controls, an improved pictobox, enhanced the textures. And off screen play is pretty damn cool.
They also added a hard mode, improved first person controls, an improved pictobox, enhanced the textures. Yeah, I agree it's no system seller. I got my Wii U mainly for Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 at first, but WWHD was a really nice surprise when they announced it.
Oh man I've readed title as 'Wind Wanker HD' Was getting hyped for something [sp]wankful[/sp] I don't know anymore
So when everyone here is saying anime is bad. Does that include shit like Attack on Titan, or Big O? Cause those are cool as shit.
why do anime fans get trolled so easily? you guys take anime more seriously than you take your lives
anime is life
why do anime fans get trolled so easily? you guys take anime more seriously than you take your lives
zappa sucks
zappa sucks
ok?
wunna see me turn into a super saiyan
I fucking watched Oreimo and even I think the guys in here defending the incest are being weird as shit. Incest is wrong please don't date your sister
