Need more police officers like this, not just enforcing the law but helping and supporting the community and those who are most vulnerable in it.

First straight cop I've read about in my life
Police brutality. Fire this man.
Brutality of the heart!
First straight cop I've read about in my life
You mustn't have seen that many cops in your life.
First straight cop I've read about in my life
All cops I've met are pretty swell and integrous guys and gals.
Not pictured: the cop is actually stealing boots from the homeless man
I broke up with a girl recently and this brought a smile to my face, holy shit
Shame some other homeless dude's gonna steal his shoes. That's like the #1 thing homeless people steal from each other.
Holy shit, an NYPD officer who isn't obese
His heart grew three sizes that day. Great role model.
Hearthwarming.
more like feetwarming!
Probably the same reason people rate "funny" for horrific events. Also, the OP is missing a source. I'd like it so I can show my friend the article
Are you ashamed of facepunch or something?
Need more police officers like this, not just enforcing the law but helping and supporting the community and those who are most vulnerable in it.
A LOT of officers do this. The media just doesnt publish it because its considered part of their job. You dont hear of EMT's bringing people from the dead back to life everyday, do you?
It's an officer's job to supply boots to the homeless?
nooooo They do thinks like that
Just kind of weird that they're right outside a shoe store.
He brought him to the store. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline]
Holy shit, an NYPD officer who isn't obese
I work alongside NYPD all the time, I rarely ever see one out of shape. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline]
You dont hear of EMT's bringing people from the dead back to life everyday, do you?
We only get on the news when we fuck up.
This photo was so touching. I died a little in the inside everyday I lived in South Africa and saw homeless people like this.
We only get on the news when we fuck up.
exactly my point
all cops should do stuff like this to protect and to serve, right?
His Spirit of Giving badge rank went up that day.
Are you ashamed of facepunch or something?
Most people don't consider some post on a forum they've likely never been to before as a credible source :v:
Most people don't consider some post on a forum they've likely never been to before as a credible source :v:
That, and sometimes guests can't see parts of the forum.
been reading about this all day. things like this never make it into the news.
I think generally because they are so rarely photographed. A picture is a powerful item.
That, and sometimes guests can't see parts of the forum.
Sensationalist Headlines is a public section. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] You can even look at the viewer bar and see the number of guests.
His Spirit of Giving badge rank went up that day.
Wait, do they have badges like that already? If not, that gives me an idea...
exactly my point
or if we die. We always get on the news when someone in EMS dies.
I work alongside NYPD all the time, I rarely ever see one out of shape.
I don't know what kind of NYPD you're working with, because a good 50-75% of the street cops I see haven't been hitting the gym
I don't know what kind of NYPD you're working with, because a good 50-75% of the street cops I see haven't been hitting the gym
I work with NYPD of all kind, Housing, Transit, PB.
Stories like these warm the sole. In all seriousness though, I commend the officer for his action. I don't see how some can say they've lost faith in humanity. With people like this in the world, how can you say that?
