This happens more often than you'd think man, just no one wants to hear about the police officer, fireman, paramedic who does their job well and demonstrates the good in people, overall we just want to hear shit that confirms our negative beliefs about these types of people, especially police officers.
But yeah man, guy done a good thing, nice to hear about this sort of stuff.
Here, have people who still see the "truth" past this act of charity:

Cops can't catch a break it seems.
Amen to that.
I hope other people realize how ironic Pierre's post is.

The problem is police brutality is a REAL big issue and it still exists, but the extremes are problematic.
People who think all cops are perfect and people who think all cops are assholes, either is ridiculous.
I've met some of the nicest and horrible people in the NYPD here.
is anyone else getting tired of news articles about the internet's reaction to personal anecdotes
Holy shit, an NYPD officer who isn't obese
This is a great man, it's a shame there are so many bad officers who give guys like this a bad name. I know we have our share of bad cops over here in Washington state but I have met a few that are just amazing people. I had one cop pull over next to me and offer me a ride home from school, and then he played a joke on my parents and brought me up to the door handcuffed. He is now a family friend.
Remember, not all cops are assholes.
When I worked at Security we'd always have to call the cops for any stranglers around a local place.
The owner didn't want them around, so we couldn't do much about it. The cops came, and came, until I asked them what they wanted.
They said they just wanted some water, or some bread. So the next day I brought some bread and water, and never saw them again. I thought it was weird, but I guess it was a good deed.
Shame you never hear about something good in news like this, only something about an officer doing something wrong, or is having a hard time in his life and over reacted.
They're humans, after all.

Well of-course people think bad about the police.
Have you ever been pulled over, only to be complimented by that right-hand turn you did by the book, and by how none of your rear lights are broken?
Me neither.

I don't think anyone's going to want to buy boots from a homeless man. And he's in a punlic space so ge can't really complain that someone took a photo of him without permission.
