Thing is, having some sort of gun control now would be nigh impossible to control. Guns are everywhere in the country. Not saying everybody owns one but there are lots of them. It would take a long time to get things under control.
We get it. I like guns. You like guns. Other people don't like guns. Can we not turn this into gun debate thread #328 at least until we know exactly what happened?
can you not dance on the graves of the dead to push some gun control BS in this thread? If you're so desperate to start a gun control debate, go to Mass Debate.
What's funny is that the first people to dance on graves to push ideas are gun nut conservatives. Something like this happens, you always have an entire wave of morons going on about how if the victim had a gun this would never have happened.
CNN states that "close to 20 dead. At least 10 children." I just teared up a little.
I'm surprised the anti gun people haven't jumped in the thread yet.
They have. At the expense of those who have been injured from the shooting. Real white-knights there.
Don't even start this shit. We all know how it turns out.
What the fuck? Swedish media is saying a "dozen".
We won't get exact numbers until a few more hours after the incident.
BUT CRIMINALS WILL STILL BE ABLE TO GET GUNS EVEN IF WE MAKE THEM ILLEGAL DON'T TAKE AWAY OUR KID-MURDERING TOOLS

An official has verified that 27 dead number, which includes 18 children
They have. At the expense of those who have been injured from the shooting. Real white-knights there.
Sorry but that is a pretty feeble argument. "You can't talk about the problems of firearm homicide in a thread created by firearm homicide."

These children being killed is a tragedy, we should mourn the dead, not use them as an excuse to push gun control or remove gun control.
can you not dance on the graves of the dead to push some gun control BS in this thread? If you're so desperate to start a gun control debate, go to Mass Debate.
I'm on mobile so I can't post the clip I'm thinking of but recently Jon Stewart brought up a great point: it's never time to talk about gun control. Not at super bowl half time after a football player murders his family and commits suicide, not a few days after, not after a mall is shot up by a crazed gunman and certainly not after, within days of a mall shooting in America, an American elementary school is shot up. When the fuck ARE we allowed to talk about it?
An official has verified that 27 dead number, which includes 18 children
Where are you guys seeing this? All I see are two adults killed.
Where are you guys seeing this? All I see are two adults killed.
CNN broadcast.
Sorry but that is a pretty feeble argument. "You can't talk about the problems of firearm homicide in a thread created by firearm homicide."
We have a Mass Debate section if you want to talk about gun control. There's nothing stopping anybody from making a thread there.
CNN broadcast.
Oh, the source I posted was updated. Fuck this sucks.
We get it. I like guns. You like guns. Other people don't like guns. Can we not turn this into gun debate thread #328 at least until we know exactly what happened?
What? I didn't even say what I think of guns. You aren't helping to keep the thread from being a gun debate. I just said what I thought would happen. Calm down.
We have a Mass Debate section if you want to talk about gun control. There's nothing stopping anybody from making a thread there.
Do you apply this logic to all SH threads or just ones about firearms?
ABC is saying 2 shooters? Not confirmed though.
Where are you guys seeing this? All I see are two adults killed.
The Associated Press tweeted that.
Sorry but that is a pretty feeble argument. "You can't talk about the problems of firearm homicide in a thread created by firearm homicide."

If I'm willing to leave that kinda shit out of this thread, then so can you. Unless you enjoy circular arguments that never end.
This isn't the time. Using what's happening as an excuse to debate gun control is sick. There are kids dying.
Please don't use faux moral indignation to try and stifle debate that is contrary to your interests
Somebody specifically posts saying not to start this, then immediately goes and starts it because he just can't help but feel right on a hot topic. Faux-moral indignation? Fuck you. I'm out for the day.
WCVB in Boston now reporting 27 as well.

I just don't think this thread is an appropriate place. 99% of the time a gun control debate pops up in SH as a kneejerk reaction and it turns into artillery of the dumbs in about an hour.
This isn't the time.
Nothing to stop me being critical of people who do indulge in that argument.
Somebody brings up gun control and apparently protocol a racist half time contributor to the section is an authority on whether or not debates are allowed here
Oh god this is horrible.
Now they're saying 18 children. Jesus fucking Christ.
