hi there as a resident of the state of connecticut with a close friend who was going to be working in the very school this morning that i would like to inform everyone that thinks that there should be more guns in a school should fuck right off, thanks
guns do absolutely nothing to promote security and to hear people all day going "man if i'd been there with my handgun things would've gone differently" no it wouldn't, shut the fuck up.
anyone who is trying to use this shit as a way to defend the proliferation of firearms in this country is a fucking scumbag. rate me dumb, I don't give a shit; you're the one advocating for a tool that is designed to murder things. and when it does it's job really effectively on a little group of children, you think the right answer is to have more murderous weapons.
shut up you ridiculously insane sociopaths, your obsession with guns is disgusting and archaic and you need to grow up instead of latching on to every single tragedy and saying that more guns is the answer.

They're none of those things, just edgy teenagers
So pray tell me what disorders would prevent someone from owning a gun?
Psychosis for starters.
That's on a case by case basis (the case being the media outlet in question.) Fox News might say that, but the media as a whole doesn't glorify guns and gun ownership.
That's what I just said.

Amen.
Let us look to statistics, instead of our own "reasoning", for the solution to this problem.
You know absolutely nothing of CCW laws and regulations if you're trying to assert this, they're accountable to the police and to the courts, as well as to the mass media. Take the Trayvon Martin case, for example, a perfect example of where the potential misuse of CCW leads to public accountability for the permit holder, the media were on that for months.
He only went to court because the media got involved. He was released without charge the night of the shooting and was then charged later after the public outcry. The police and courts were perfectly content to allow him off the hook with the carte blanche "stand your ground" law until then.
That's the problem; in order for there not to be a vast strain on the legal system carefully considering each use of deadly force by a private citizen, these carte blanche self-defense laws like Stand Your Ground and Castle Doctrine laws which end up creating a (racist, shhhh) culture of vigilantism that, in my opinion, is just as pernicious as any spree shooting.
Yeah, but a hunting rifle is for hunting, a gun on a security guard is meant specifically to kill other people, I can see how it would affect a kid more. I mean, a kid being confronted with the fact that the guard that's right in front of them might end up killing someone can't feel right.
Sorry, but I have to disagree on that one.
People don't carry guns mainly to kill people. They carry it for protection. I know, I'm nitpicking, but that's a horrible wrong thing to say.

Just bought ME3.
I regret NOTHING.
Guns don't kill, its the people who use them, even if a gun ban in place guns will be illeagly crossed anywhere.
Except you aren't even taking into account the fact that;
1. Most people have never been in a warzone and thus aren't used to conversing calmly during incessant gunfire like soldiers.
2. You seriously overestimate the efficiency and leadership skills of permit holders similarly as to how SigmaLambda underestimates them. Permit holders are people too, and guess what, people make mistakes.
3. Even off duty hard-boiled soldiers who are - for example - having lunch with their families at the mall are going to be startled and panicked when someone pulls a gun and starts firing all of a sudden. Now imagine that effect being amplified for people who have never even heard a gunshot before.
It's going to be utter chaos, yet you somehow assume that the second a firefight opens up in a public place everyone will just hunker down and the permit holders will calmly draw their weapons and neutralize the threat.
Yes, but his assumption of chaos is the permit holders having a wild-west shootout with each other. It doesn't have to be calm communications, it can and likely will be panicked shouting, but it'll get the point across. He's not talking about the chaos of people fleeing, he's fabricating a chaotic scenario where there's a gunfight between permit holders, and even panicked shouting will stop just such a scenario.
People often act as if the police are some sort of superhuman beings as well, they're people too, a cop in a mall will be just as startled as an ex-soldier or any other permit holder who may be there if a shooter comes in to the mall. The point is people can be trained to use their guns responsibly, even under stress.

How the hell did you come up with that? Do you even know what a gun is?
DaCommie1 abandon thread there's no hope
Gah, What horror. I recently watched Bowling for Columbine. If only people took the message from that. Then I again I hear Michael Moore has a bad reputation no?
Guns don't kill, its the people who use them, even if a gun ban in place guns will be illeagly crossed anywhere.
You can't BAN guns. It's just not possible in this day and age. We've been over this before.
Banning guns will just mean a fuckton of traffic on the black market.
Sorry, but I have to disagree on that one.

They protect themselves by killing people.
Psychosis for starters.
Not a disorder. If someone was actively psychotic they would be in a Hospital. Psychosis isn't something you're diagnosed with and live with for the rest of your day, it's an episodic occurrence.

Killing 27 seven people: The second must awful travesty caused by the Mass Effect team.
Why the hell are they blaming Mass Effect in particular?
Some stupid American news agency released a Facebook link supposedly to the shooter, under his 'likes' on Facebook was Mass Effect, but it turned out an hour later it wasn't the shooter after all
They protect themselves by killing people.
Yes, that applies to the common folk who are not trained to use a gun in a real situation. Police officers mainly shoot to incapacitate, and if the situation desires it, to kill.

"ridiculously insane sociopaths" you know nothing about gun ownership then, do you? Just as many, if not more, people latch on to these saying gun control is the answer, grave-dancing is not a one-way street. And as for sociopaths, your assertion is ignorant, bigoted, and absolutely disgusting. A gun does not suddenly make someone sociopathic and more than liquor suddenly makes someone alcoholic. I think you're the one who needs to grow up here, for insulting half the country because of a hobby they have and a piece of property they own.

Fuck.
This is even worse than I thought it would be....
jeeze way to make it sound completely out of context
knives cut people open and let you take organs out of them
and then emergency surgery is over and the patient feels better!
Note how you can't perform surgery or prepare a meal or effectively hunt game with a handgun. The only purpose a handgun serves is to end human lives. That is it's sole function as a tool.
Awch

Holy fuck you are dumb, look up handgun hunting and educate yourself before you post
