For fucks sake, the gun lobby are the crazy fucks. They jump on every fucking opportunity to peddle their bullshit ideology with tired and worn out arguments about how guns would fix this problem. Any counter-argument is generalized as the "anti-gun people" who are out to destroy freedom and take away your privilege to own guns.
You know what's weird? Nobody ever brings up gun control until an event like this happens, and then everyone's for it.
everyone's for it.
What? Even the NRA?
What? Even the NRA?
Talk about cherrypicking. You're a joke, brother.
I never said that.
You were purposely misinterpreting his post to make it sound like he wanted to take away freedom of speech for people who disagree with him when he was explaining why slander isnt covered under freedom of speech comon, dont play dumb
Someone with the power to kill in their hands isn't going to be stupid with it. People act like they'll be firing their gun over chairs blindly, and they won't, because everything they've ever been taught about guns tells them they shouldn't.
Uh, yeah, lets just be more idealistic about this shall we. You REALLY sound like an idealistic fool. I'm not acting like that at all. You know what I'm acting like? Like holding the power of life and death in your hands when you're an inexperienced civillian in a combat situation is a ripe situation for shit to go wrong Can you take a fucking minute to think
Actually, there's a very high likelihood a civilian is using hollowpoints, they're recommended for self defence because of their low chance of penetration and high shock damage to the victim. They're commonly available and legal for civilians to own literally everywhere that a gun is legal. And any NORMAL PERSON can spend hours on the range, including action ranges, to perfect their accuracy and train for uncertain scenarios. This again is acting like cops are on some sort of pedestal, a cop is a normal person whose job it is to protect people. He doesn't receive any kind of training that a "normal person" can't also go and get.
1) You're assuming I think Cops are genuinely capable of dealing with these situations. They're not, they're only better at it because of EXPERIENCE. An incredibly important aspect of this whole thing. 2) Shoot a fucking target all day long and you're STILL not in a COMBAT SITUATION 3) We can't know what ammo a civilian will be using on the day, so my bad in the initial argument, but it could fucking happen. Just fucking TRY to grasp that a range and a combat situation are light years apart
You were purposely misinterpreting his post to make it sound like he wanted to take away freedom of speech for people who disagree with him when he was explaining why slander isnt covered under freedom of speech comon, dont play dumb
Except the implication was to take away my freedom of speech because I said that I can criticize sociopathic gun owners.
Ugh the guys on Fox News (yeah I know) are sitting there with huge smiles on their face, hamming it up and generally being scumbags. Holy shit I've never wanted to snap a group of news anchors over my knee before

What language is the upper text in?
He's not even arguing in favour of gun control, he's arguing that people who use school shootings to propagate their bullshit gun ideology are sociopaths. I can criticise gun owners for being sociopathic if I please, especially when they have sociopathic traits.
You definitely did call gun owners sociopaths.
criticize sociopathic gun owners.
Stop with this generalization bullshit Yeah, everyone who owns guns are sociopaths, just like everyone who's into anime are fat slobs who masturbate to pillows, okay
1) You're assuming I think Cops are genuinely capable of dealing with these situations. They're not, they're only better at it because of EXPERIENCE. An incredibly important aspect of this whole thing. 2) Shoot a fucking target all day long and you're STILL not in a COMBAT SITUATION
Dude, cops' training sucks. Badly. It's pretty much "shoot a fucking target once a month, still without being in a COMBAT SITUATION". Remember how most of the people wounded at the Empire State shooting were actually hit by cops?
Except the implication was to take away my freedom of speech because I said that I can criticize sociopathic gun owners.
He pretty clearly wasnt implying anything. He was stating that you cant slander people and expect it to be covered by free speech stop trying to find non-existent implications in people's argument to use against them, its a really annoying way to debate and makes you look immature
Ugh the guys on Fox News (yeah I know) are sitting there with huge smiles on their face, hamming it up and generally being scumbags. Holy shit I've never wanted to snap a group of news anchors over my knee before
Wait what. How the fuck can people even fucking smile over this horrible situation.

1. That was not my argument, but that of somebody else. 2. If you are a sociopath, I can call you a sociopath
I know its been asked time and time again by why an elementary school. Just WHY. If I was going to do a mass shooting I sure as hell wouldn't be shooting young children. It's just beyond wrong.
Dude, cops' training sucks. Badly. It's pretty much "shoot a fucking target once a month, still without being in a COMBAT SITUATION". Remember how most of the people wounded at the Empire State shooting were actually hit by cops?
Wow your reading comprehension must suck Right, cause you know, like, 5 words before all that I say that I don't think cops are better at dealing with it... It's only experience that dictates that, and not all cops HAVE experience so, yes, lets twist words till you make sense, shall we? And I mean clearly this is HELPING the fucking argument of CC right? If we can't even trust cops to do it correctly, we think, we assume, fuck it, you guys act like you KNOW, that civilians will handle this more efficiently and better than cops.
Stop with this generalization bullshit Yeah, everyone who owns guns are sociopaths, just like everyone who's into anime are fat slobs who masturbate to pillows, okay
Sociopathic gun owners can exist.
yo this whole gun argument thing is redundant and retarded can you guys just stop Can someone clear up who the shooter was? A bunch of outlets report differently but most of them are reporting that Adam Lanza (Ryan's brother) was the shooter instead of Ryan, and that Ryan is being questioned. Is this correct?
anyone? i really wish this thread was about the topic and not derailed into a fucking gun argument but a lot of you (Sobotnik) are incapable of doing so. i understand the issue of gun control is relevant to this but there's literally 13+ pages of it and none of us can read the fucking thread properly without your bullshit opinions in our faces. take it to the god damn debate section.
Someone with the power to kill in their hands isn't going to be stupid with it. People act like they'll be firing their gun over chairs blindly, and they won't, because everything they've ever been taught about guns tells them they shouldn't.
You can't honestly believe that.
Sociopathic gun owners can exist.
Yeah, and it's the sociopaths that kill people, not the gun owners.
1. That was not my argument, but that of somebody else. 2. If you are a sociopath, I can call you a sociopath
You called everyone who owns a gun a sociopath... I don't know you, so how do you know what my mental state is. And I didn't realize you knew one third of the U.S. population, even though you live in the UK.
You can't honestly believe that.
I find it just so bizarre someone feels like that sincerely it's like you have to be wearing the worst kind of blinders
Wow your reading comprehension must suck Right, cause you know, like, 5 words before all that I say that I don't think cops are better at dealing with it... Just going to say that there's never going to be a way to prevent things such as this incident from happening. There will always be crazy people in this world and we'll never be able to actually stop these things from occurring by banning or allowing more guns. Like someone said earlier in this thread, there was also a mass stabbing in China. That guy was mentally ill, and he didn't even need a gun to cause such massive harm. If someone is truly sick in the head, they will use whatever they can acquire to cause as much damage as possible. If you ban guns, then they'll just find some other way to kill because that's what they want to do. They could go somewhere and just buy a gun off the streets, or maybe go to a nearby store and buy a baseball bat, or make their own gun from scratch. What I'm trying to say is that you can't argue about regulations with weapons because no matter what, stuff like this is going to happen. It's just a part of life, and you really just can't do anything to stop people from doing things like this since you can't tell who is crazy or not, or what people around you are thinking. A man could be right next to you about to rob you when you're outside. He could have anything from a gun to a knife to just plain fighting skills. You don't know what the person is capable of at all, and it will almost always be unexpected when something bad happens like this because you don't know their intentions. Don't know if this makes sense. I just typed this very quickly, but I hope someone understands my point... I'm aware that I've probably restated a few things and will probably be showered in boxes, but whatever.
Wow, I think this guy really had it in for humanity in general and wanted to fuck up as many lives as he possibly could. Who the fuck shoots up a fucking school of elementary kids? This guy had no standards, even some fucked up killers couldn't bring themselves to shoot up a fucking elementary school.
You called everyone who owns a gun a sociopath.
No I didn't.
I can criticise gun owners for being sociopathic if I please, especially when they have sociopathic traits.
Read dipshit.
especially when they have sociopathic traits.
Read.
I'll come back to this thread when you've all stopped using this massacre as a reason for an argument about gun laws. Fucking idiots, the lot of you.
Sorry, this whole thing is getting my nerves in a bunch.
so calm the fuck down and read. If you're arguing FOR concealed carry as a form of security, your own post there just proved how terrible an idea that is. If cops can't do it, then why can civilians.
Wait what. How the fuck can people even fucking smile over this horrible situation.
Ratings. They're seriously milking it for views, it's fucking disgusting.

It would just probably cost a lot.
