DEVELOPING: Shooting reported at Connecticut elementary school; 27 killed

America in a nutshell
I don't see why this school didn't have some form of security at the main entrance. After Columbine & VT, most Colorado schools have a single point of entry that's unlocked throughout the day, with a person supervising all entry and exit from the building. Even the elementary schools require a student ID at all times, so everyone can be accounted for. This makes it especially hard to not notice an adult attempting to enter without ID and a good reason at all times of the day.
While it might seem like overkill on most days, the system is designed to prevent unauthorized entry, even when the building is open for people to enter and exit.

Didn't he get buzzed in like a regular visitor initially? It sounded like he got taken to the principal's office and it escalated from there.

front doors at schools are rarely locked because people keep coming and going.

MILF with an M1 Carbine. Two good things that go great together.
Interesting quote I found,
Blaming inanimate objects is yet another display of failure to accept responsibility.
There is no telling how many young people are graduating from high school with serious mental issues that will only be further exacerbated once they enter college or the work force.
It is imperative that we, as a society, make a concerted effort to identify the root of this problem.
This will be difficult to achieve since the very institutions who want to take away our guns contribute greatly to the fragmentation of our society, lack of common culture, and intolerance for life-affirming expressions or behaviors
not sure if legit or not
Pretty fucking huge conincidence if you ask me
While the 2nd amendment may or may not be relevant for other scenarios today, it's clear that the original purpose is not: "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
While you may say "we don't know what they though about when they wrote it", it doesn't really matter when the reason is clearly stated in the amendment itself. Advocating guns because they're usable for self-defense, sport shooting or other fun activities makes some kind of sense, but using the 2nd amendment doesn't. Sure, guns are legal simply because of the 2nd amendment, but I'd say that's a by-product of a now obsolete law, rather than the original intention.
What the fuck America, how you have so many shootings happening there?

Shopped, these kind of pictures pop up every single time a major shooting happens.
When will the dumb Americans realize they have to change their dumb gun laws?

When someone who knows what he's talking about proposes decent gun laws, instead of HURR WE MUST BAN PISTOL GRIPS AND BARREL SHROUDS BECAUSE THEY ARE DESIGNED TO KILL BABIES.

What? Nobody in the thread has been advocating that.
It could happen. Probably won't, but could
Anyway, as I previously said, many countries have held out against the American military pretty well
Except they tend to get pummeled in the end.

Ignoring that this is still a product of misinformation by the media (wrong guy), how is it that people are able to operate with absolutely no regard to rational thought or critical thinking? It's not even that Bioware got singled out, it's just that people are being ridiculous. Hey, he used Facebook too, might as well ban that, right?
It baffles me that, even today, people just remain willfully ignorant, and it's infinitely more disrespectful to the situation than anything else, in my opinion. Instead of actually helping the people with mental health issues, people are content to blame something entirely unrelated and call it a day. I guess taking on the real problem is just too much work.

Where did you get the impression I was talking about this thread? I meant actual lawmaking business.

Got any examples?

Pretty much a lot of the countries who lost wars with the United States.

Vietcongs weren't that much of a regular army, yet the US retreated after realizing they were out of their league. The Taliban, compared to the US army are a bunch of desert goat-herders with a rifle, a Quran and some IEDs, yet they refuse to lose.
Good ol' Sobotnik-brand question avoidance.

They watch fox news and they (fox news) made that connection for no reason at all
Seriously though, I always forget how mentally incompetent some people actually are.
Not only is it the wrong person, but they're immediately blaming things that he likes?
Wow.
I hate how the media insists on getting the guy wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Plus, all that Bioware hate is indescribably stupid, of course.
I'm unsure about the following stats in this image, but it's something to be aware of because of this tragedy.

Cool man, just post an image with no back up to it whatsoever, not like that's an awful argument or anything!

You know, two handguns killed 28 people yesterday.
Why are we blaming Adam!? Clearly, the guns should be arrested and put on trial.
