You do realize that people break into houses and steal guns every day right? Resell them on city streets? Happens all the time here in the Baltimore area. Baltimore has the second highest murder rate in the country due to gun homicides. 99% of which are with stolen guns.
Any facts for this?
Someone insane enough to even think of going into a school and shooting an entire class room doesn't give a fuck about the law, restrictions on guns won't magically make mass shootings disappear, you need to deal with the crazy people, not their toys.
If that's the case why aren't there more public mass murders like this in countries where guns are (pretty much) completely illegal?
Police verify "several" fatalities
Why would he have been wearing a bullet proof vest? That's what I want to know. Among other things of course, like why.
Children are dead, and you nitwits want to talk about your stupid guns? UGH
I expect to get seriously dumbboxed by saying this as it is, but think it straight - The gun control issue is a lot wider than the discussion of children's death - if not dealt with accordingly and with caution, this will keep happening and happening without solving anything at all.
Yea, and more worrisome than with the 'ism' at the end. These people have no goal other than self destruction with a lot of collateral damage, and they may come into your school at any time because they are having a particularly shitty day.
I don't think this will instigate discussions on gun control in any way. In fact I think the only thing it will do is start surveillance or ordinary people more than any islamic extremist. Just watch, all of these shooters are going to be labelled young disgruntled introverts and there's going to be all kinds of paranoia. Any gun control argument will quickly die out like it always does and instead all the shit that's usually scapegoated will be, mark my words.

Some erotic gunman fantasy I don't know.
Any facts for this?
Read Baltimore news. Police blotters talk about stolen guns all the time. I see it in my local Patch: http://reisterstown.patch.com
and that right before christmas
im fucking crying right now
And that ends the briefing. No questions being answered, scene is "secure". Public not endangered.
ITT: herp let's ban guns then mentally ill people can't get them ever because it totally wouldn't enlarge the black market
OR
derp gun control is bad I should be allowed to have a literal killing machine then I can stop crazy people with literal killing machines!
This fallacy drives me fucking crazy. Why can't we deal with the crazy people and their 'toys'?
Why does the notion that gun control won't stop ALL shootings completely invalidate the idea of gun control?
I'm on neither side of this debate, but the ill logic that comes out of the pro-gun front is insane to deal with.
Because crazy people will use whatever they can get. Take their guns away, they'll use knives. They do it all the time in Asia. Take knives away (In a country like the USA? Unfucking Likely, ever.) Then they'll make knives. Knives are no less dangerous than guns against a crowd of unarmed children, or even adults
And that ends the briefing. No questions being answered, scene is "secure". Public not endangered.
Real eventful huh?
Some erotic gunman fantasy I don't know.
I wasn't specifically asking you. But if it's true that leads me to believe he had some intentions of self preservation.
Why would he have been wearing a bullet proof vest? That's what I want to know. Among other things of course, like why.
Because officers can be on campus or nearby and respond quickly. It may have only served to protect him until he was satisfied with the shooting enough to take his own life.
He may have intended to survive, but that is pretty rare in incidents such as these.
Read Baltimore news. Police blotters talk about stolen guns all the time. I see it in my local Patch: http://reisterstown.patch.com
When I asked for facts I asked for statistics not your police blotter.
Real eventful huh?
Totally.
They said they'll set up regular briefings. Families being notified before the exact number of deaths being released.
Children are dead, and you nitwits want to talk about your stupid guns? UGH
The thing is there's not much to say about what's already happened. That might be a cynical view, but it's true.
This is crazy. When the news came on they only said that it was another school shooting. I thought it was a student, but it being an elementary school is insane. I can't imagine rushing to see if my child was even alive.
I work for a K-8 school system. I expect this will trigger company-wide policy change. We already have lobby areas so people can't walk straight past the office and into a classroom, but I wouldn't be surprised if the executives come to the IT department looking for an additional protection method.
My heart goes out to the families, I'm shaking just thinking about it.
Also the House just passed a CCW law in Michigan that allows firearms in stadiums, schools, etc. This should get interesting.
stupid media causing people to shoot children, THIS IS ALL ON YOUR HANDS LIBERAL MEDIA. But blaming video games makes no sense at all.
Goddamn, facepunch, you're still as stupid and predictable as ever.
Because crazy people will use whatever they can get. Take their guns away, they'll use knives. They do it all the time in Asia. Take knives away (In a country like the USA? Unfucking Likely, ever.) Then they'll make knives
I don't think I've ever heard of a situation like this in or the mall shootings or the cinema shootings in the UK where the weapon used was a knife
Because officers can be on campus or nearby and respond quickly.
But that would mean he either expected to get away or be caught alive. We don't know if he killed himself though, I think the cops did.
This is crazy. When the news came on they only said that it was another school shooting. I thought it was a student, but this is much more shocking to me.
It's amazing how fast news can change.
This is just what I was afraid of
2012 dipshits going insane because 'end of the world' its just going to be madness everywhere, leading up to 21st
totally wouldn't enlarge the black market
That is the biggest irony of them all. The black market is so huge because of civilian firearm proliferation. Not the other way around.
I mean look at Britain, where ~criminals~ have to resort to using blanks loaded with ballbearings as bullets. Simply because we don't have factories pumping millions of rounds out every year onto the streets.
When I asked for facts I asked for statistics not your police blotter.
Police blotter is a fact you tool.
Real eventful huh?
Do you guys not understand the concept of sorting out scenes?
You can't expect any clear facts for a very long time.
Earlier when I checked I couldn't get any number of casualties, only some possible injuries.
But now 27 dead, fuck.
Police blotter is a fact you tool.
Statistic.
STATISTIC do you fucking understand the concept of that? Blotters are just events every so often, it doesn't prove anything but that it exists.
