So the trailer seems to be in reverse? Is the main show like that too? Is that the idea; to make it feel disorientating?

Everything is in reverse, hence the name!
(I recorded a few minutes and re-reversed them, it's uploading right now)
Oh man walking backwards in the streets with cars and shit must be scary, at least you can count on the people of Tokyo to get out the way.
This reminds me of the channel that just plays a burning fireplace in the winter up here, I think one year they took it down and people got all up in arms about it.

The programme really showed you how Tokyo is much more of a pedestrian-friendly city than, say, Paris.
For those wondering, "slow TV" is a concept that originally appeared on Norway's public TV channel NRK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7VYVjR_nwE
They also aired a 7 day long ferry trip, non stop. It was condensed into 5 minutes here:

reminds me of the boat trips down to apalachicola i go on ever year
L'ART!
(seriously this is kinda stupid)
I think this is absolutely awesome.
Who cares if it's "art" when it is cool to watch.
Trains are better.

seems like the cameraman is also doing a little acted bobbing of his own to look natural in the reverse
i like the idea of ambient television channels like these
It's actually really nice. Too bad I haven't ever seen anything like it on tv here.
Makes me think of this

The effect caused just by them reversing the video gives a mesmerising effect.

Here are the whole nine hours, link might not work outside of France though, I dunno
If they ever do this again, they should dress him up as a grenadier of the Old Guard and play this:

Or alternatively dress him as Napoleon. That would be fucking awesome.
I'd love to have a channel full of these kinds of recordings. Just to put on music and relax and talk and stuff. Kind of like the concept of a music video channel. No one is really going to actively watch it 24/7, but it is nice to have on when you just want to sit down and chill.
[editline]1st April 2014[/editline]
Also I wonder if the cameraman was holding a mirror, article doesn't say and if they say it in the video I didn't hear because my audio was off.

You start feeling incredibly tall while watching this for some reason.
Really gives you an impression of how the world would look if we were the size of a two story house.
i considered this dumb at first, but after seeing how they're reversing it, it seems pretty cool
