Why is this such a big deal?
It's not because its complete bullshit. But had it been true, it would have likely been some form of copyright infringement which big companies do not look too kindly on other large companies doing with stuff they own the rights to.
The real reason why Oracle is pushing this lawsuit so bad is because they want royalties from Google, for the millions they are making with the Android.
How can you sue somebody for using the same code? textbox1.text += "lul were stealing ur code rfl"; [editline]22nd January 2011[/editline] Looks like oracle is looking for money

The allegation is that google is (but apparently are not, see other thread) using code which is Oracle's (It was written by their employees so it legally theirs, they can forbid people using it if they want to). If it was correct (and the other thread seems to suggest that the person who wrote the original article is dumb) then Oracle would be more than within their right to sue Google.

Just to repeat again what two people have said already, no they didn't steal/copy anything. Those were test files. They aren't released and distributed with Android.
Unless Java files suit I don't see how it affects anyone.
Sun owns Java Oracle bought Sun So Oracle owns Java
