Such a shame that hardly anyone knows that great game.

Tell me more of this.
God damn it D:
Metro 2033 is based off a book of the same name actually.
Metro 2033 was based on a book with the same name that was based on a book with a different name that STALKER was based on.
Get back in here STALKER.

Metro 2033(the book) is not based on roadside picnic(the book that inspired the movie stalker that the game is partially based on).
I really hope 4A continues the series. I can't see any other company doing it well.
I can't really see them taking that decision though. They already have Metro. Two Russian post-apocalyptic shooters under one's belt? :v:

I just figure that THQ would want them to focus on Metro. If they did pick up the project, I wouldn't mind. I'd just be a bit surprised.

That's the point, they know how to make a good post-apocalyptic world. Besides, 4A was made up of former GSC employees, they may want to pick it up.

"Based" was a poor choice of words on my part but you have to admit that it's quite obvious that Metro 2033 (the book) was influenced by Roadside Picnic.

Ofc they would perhaps be interested, but I just think they're focusing on their new Metro 'franchise' atm. Even if they did pick it up, we wouldn't see Stalker 2 until probably 2013-2014ish.

Big deal. Almost everything is influenced by something else. The books share very few similarities other than the general atmosphere.
