People buy Nintendo devices for Mario and Zelda games.
Do you have any idea how many wiis are sitting in closets with wii fit on the shelf beside them right now? The number of people who bought into that fad is simply staggering.
Why do I feel like the current generation of consoles is going to completely disappear when the next one shows up. This isn't like a major leap similar to what we experienced with the first playstation or even the transition between ps2/xbox and ps3/360, the next generation is basically just going to be an upgrade of what we currently have, similarly to how we went from ps1 to ps2 and from nes to snes without really giving a shit about what we were leaving behind.
Well I guess that's just going to make PC gaming even more affordable since games aren't going to advance anywhere while the hardware is relentlessly moving ahead. The side effect is that games are going to continue to not take advantage of anything past dx 9.
He never said they will not release a new one before 2015
in my eyes, this basically means new console very soon
I remember a time when pcfags and consolefags didn't exist. Ah yes....the days when you would spend an hour on the PC playing Duke Nukem before a friend came over, then palying Mortal Kombat on the SNES for another two.
you're the worst
Looks like at this point that Microsoft and Sony are playing Russian roulette in waiting for the other to act first. Whoever acts first has the inferior hardware for a whole gen. If nobody acts, Nintendo steamrolls them.
Of course they'd say the price won't drop. If they would say at any point "Yes the prices will get lower" people just won't buy it until it will get lower
I have noticed that Nintendo focuses more on processor power instead of graphical power. I think that is a good thing to be honest, because I prefer faster loading times.
Loading times have to do with limitations of hard drives. If you use an SSD, most games fully load in a second or two compared to the not at all uncommon 20 and 30 on conventional drives. If you were to look at processor usage while loading, apart from a few spikes here and there, the processor spends most of its time idle waiting for massive quantities of textures to be loaded.
