German man who called friends concerned about NSA's operations to join him in a walk around a US arm
The US government getting in everyone's business is really fucking pissing me off.
When are people gonna be fed up with American imperialism?
If that happens, it's probably going to make the French Revolution look like a pillow fight. The people who would actually take action first are the type of people who are responsible for starting riots. While everyone may have strong emotions, it takes just that one guy who's gone and speared a hockey stick through a police cruiser window to kick it off.

Or just realised it before you did.
- I mean it's hardly a new thing. It has been going on since the early 90s.
In some countries since the 50s.
Why do people rate this funny, it's anything but
The rest of the world doesn't need obama care because anything is better than american healthcare.
Yeah, with the NHS you may die in the corridor waiting to be seen, but at least even if you survive you don't get financially fucked.
Sad part of this all is, most Americans are blind to it. The few who do see it, their voices are drowned out by the sea of people saying it's okay and that nothing is wrong...
But if a country is put in chains for its own security, that country is no more secure than a naked man in a lion's den.
with a picture of NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden, and answered scores of questions about his plans.
Oh. Oh, thank god.
But anyway, that's fucking disturbing when a political opinion (One that's not even advocating violence or extremism at that) can get the police to raid you like that.

a new age
New age? it's always been like this since the beginning of time- or well the beginning of empires. The American empire is just more covert and behind closed doors.
I've honestly read better comments in RT and Infowars than what I'm reading in here right now. Half of you people are actually using phrases such as "American Empire" and drawing parallels to Nazi Germany unironically.
Ahahaha, awesome. In the US he would have mysteriously resisted arrest and been beaten, maced, and tazed for that.
When has that happened?
Did you miss the memo? Everyone got annexed into The United Confederacy of America.
Save for a few rougue countries (North Korea, China, Japan, and South America) we all operate under the political rule of some guy in Washington DC. I used to know someone who was planning to defect to Samoa but he vanished one afternoon on the way back from a hunting trip.

Germany has been kind of a puppet state for the US many years now. I mean, we have had several large military bases in the heart of their country for a very long time.
Where can I buy one of these "Team Edward [Snowden]" t-shirts?
Germany has been kind of a puppet state for the US many years now. I mean, we have had several large military bases in the heart of their country for a very long time.
While Germany may be making concessions towards the US, having military bases inside of a country you're allied with doesn't constitute a puppet state. If that were the case the US would be one to considering we house:
NORAD: Joint base between the US, and Canada.
Fort Bliss: In El Paso, Texas it formerly housed the German Luftwaffe.
Holloman Air Force Base: Similarly it also houses the German Luftwaffe, and has the German Air Force Tactical Training Center
Not to mention the US needs their bases overseas in places like Europe if they want any chance at interacting in foreign wars.
It honestly doesn't seem that bad, it wasn't a private announcement (it was on Facebook), and the only issue the police seem to have was with it getting out of hand (They didn't stop him doing it or anything)
If you post on the internet how you're going to hold an anti-spying "march" (or whatever) at a local army base, you can bet that's going to raise some flags.

I think most Americans are aware or have heard about the NSA and loss of privacy, but do not act because it doesn't affect them in their daily life.
It isn't very prevalent to Americans because we don't live with a 'Berlin Wall' that separates families or have 'NSA Police' patrolling and investigating the smallest facebook post. We still drive our cars, go to work, have political arguments, and go anywhere without some NSA police, door knocking because we took a different route home from the grocery store.
We simply don't have the reminder of being watched.
I really wish that people got more involved and turn it around before it's reaches door knocks. With the direction this whole thing is happening, I will not rule it out.

For such a superficially passionate nation of shit-hurlers and piss-fit throwers, you sure are lazy.

it's a Deus Ex joke lol
Paranoid government? Maybe, just maybe...
I'm quite sure it's not "USA questioning citizens in foreign countries" and more "International collaboration of men questioning citizens in foreign countries"
Why the hell would it just be the US behind this
This shit by very definition requires the cooperation of any country thats doing this on a government-sponsored level
[editline]a[/editline]
To clarify, not every country affected necessarily has to be in cahoots, but when german citizens are being wiretapped on a massive scale and things like this happens, you're naive if you think your government is just a "poor innocent victim of the evil usa empire" and that the kind of people behind these schemes exists solely in the US

There is always Canada. I've never heard of people immigrating to the U.S. here, always the reverse.

The German police got concerned about a Facebook post so they peacefully contacted the poster and asked about it
What a "raid".

First of all, that is a total invasion of privacy.
Second, that doesn't look like a protest setup by the german state.
Stop blindly defending your State Department.

It's an invasion of privacy when you willingly respond to police asking about your public announcement? How, exactly is that private, and how exactly are the police invading this guy's privacy?
And you are, unironically, defining Germany as a puppet state of the United States? Correct?
Why is the american secret police monitoring a german activist in germany in the first place?
Why is the american secret police monitoring a german activist in germany in the first place?
Since when did America have secret police..?
And I have a feeling the US found out because the guy publicly posted about the march, and anyone, and their grandma could have informed them about it.
You know history repeats itself. So revolution 2.0 time.
