BELGRADE, Serbia — Serbia's authorities are investigating reports that a cargo package bound for the U.S. containing two missiles with explosive warheads was found on a passenger flight from Lebanon to Serbia.
N1 television said the package with two guided armor-piercing missiles was discovered Saturday by a sniffer dog after an Air Serbia flight from Beirut landed at Belgrade airport.

how the holy hell do you even get these? Hellfire missiles..
Don't lose your head now!
I was expecting RPG-7 warheads or something, not Hellfires. Could it be that someone was ordered to return faulty missiles to the US and fucked up?

Does anyone know where Hellfires are assembled in the US?
i just imagine somewhere in the US, a lockheed technician just got a crate full of luggage instead of a pair of hellfire missiles
i doubt the warheads were actually live like the article implies though, last time this happened it turned out to be a pair of training missiles
Was it being moved by the military? Or did someone think they could bring missiles as checked luggage...

Good thing they didn't even. Then maybe they wouldn't have found these missiles.

If it was being moved by the military it would have been shipped, most likely, aboard a C-5 Galaxy.
If its from Lebanon then my bets are its ISIS affiliates. Beirut airport is pretty shit and it wouldn't surprise me that they were able to get these things past security. It also makes sense that the flight was to an Eastern European country, what with all the people claiming to be refugees over there.
Some people may suspect Hezbollah but this kind of thing doesn't really fit their modus operandi. If they're going to do something in the western world, its usually a quiet assassination or something similar. Hezbollah don't go all out with shipping explosive materials; they're much more subtle.
That or its just a mixup, doubt it though.
This entire thread seems very familiar didn't this already happen?

Hellfire missiles are manufactured by Lockheed Martin. According to their website these are their locations across the US.

This is definitely not accurate.

Seems reasonable, though some of those sites could be testing facilities or maintinence facilities rather than actual missile factories
Remember it's a pretty complex piece of firepower, so not all of it is built in one plant

It may not be built at one plant but they probably have a single plant that deals with equipment that fails testing.

Probably not something that massive for a couple of missiles, but they would've used some kind of military transport.

We accidentally shipped a dummy Hellfire to Cuba a little while ago, maybe that's what you're thinking of

I pictured aircraft mounted missiles but then for some reason I also actually pictured them mounted on the wings.
I imagine they were probably just being returned, hopefully someone didn't obtain them for other less friendly plans.
