This is true, but they are born into language because of their ancestry. And yeah statistics > my anecdote, but all I am saying is for people here who are not born into a second language, most don't really care about learning a second one. Which is kind of embarrassing because a lot of people have to learn English as a second language in order to really communicate with other western people. For instance this forum.

However I think a big difference is that a lot of people who learn a second language from school start learning it from an early age and then on. From my experience the American school system does not have any required second language programs from an early age. Only thing that I was required to take was one semester of spanish in highschool.

You can use [url=http://polandballcomics.tumblr.com/]the tumblr[/url] or [url=http://www.reddit.com/r/polandball/]the subreddit[/url]. It's a good comic if you're well versed in or enjoy learning about politics and history. Completely community driven and moderated by fascists so the quality and originality keeps up pretty well.
