It would be more convincing if it didn't look like the people were lifting the board.
It's a viral ad and it's working
It wouldn't work if celebrities weren't in on it.
Someone spent a shitload of money though, for what reason... who knows.
It looks like the dude at 3:06 isn't even touching the ground with his foot when he is "pushing" himself along.

that happens in the movie you wally.
If nothing else we might get to see this debunked in a year or so on Mythbusters. Assuming Discovery doesn't can it for Naked Amish Gold Gun Running Crab Shiners.

Like the person above me said, his knees are bent yet they straighten out as the board lifts off? Only makes sense if being lifted.
ok it's clearly fake i think we can all agree on that, but it's also got a lot of big names attached. so it must be some sort of ARG or viral marketing, presumably with a fairly large company attached to be able to afford the celebrity endorsement.
it'd be too easy if it were just a back to the future ARG, and i don't buy the idea that it's just for some sort of fitness app, because this would be way too detailed a ploy just to sell some fitness app no one will use. so what is it?

I'm gonna guess it's for a BTTF remake/sequel/homage or something. It's been rumored that something like thats been in the works for a while now.

there's a guy sliding behind him like some sort of ironically bad edit
Glad there's a good discssion about this here, the thread I posted in videos section just got perceived negatively. :/
guys GUYS
did you hear that the next installment in the Jaws franchise is coming out?
i heard in Jaws 19, the shark is played by Gilbert Gottfried
I'd probably watch that.
whois doesn't yield much useful information. there's a registrant phone number, but i don't think calling it would get us anywhere.
This makes me really mad. I don't like this at all. Are they really trying to fool anyone? Fuck anyone who took part on this bullshit.
Like the person above me said, his knees are bent yet they straighten out as the board lifts off? Only makes sense if being lifted.
I'm not gonna tell you it isn't fake, but being able to lift the board like that is not nonsensical when you think about it. He straightens his legs and then you see him pull it up by bending his knees. It's actually kinda convincing (aside from the fact that his knees were bent at the beginning for no reason).
Still fake tho

Why do people not see this as fun? I like the fact that they tried to make it modern and edgy in the trailer, to make it as realistic as possible.
It's quite clearly fake, but the effort behind it and for some people the "Oh i get it" is part of the fun
It's a viral ad and it's working
Is it? Usually the point of an ad is to, you know, advertise something.
I still have no idea what I just saw an ad for.

I don't think this is really in need of a Mythbusters episode.
If anything I thought parts of it were pretty tongue-in-cheek.
"The following demonstrations are COMPLETELY REAL."
Fuck all of you guys. I actually believed in it. Then you all killed it with your sciency shit (or maybe you're just more observant than me?)
you destroyed literally all my hopes and dreams.
all of my future projects were based on using a hoverboard.
facepunch, you ruined me
I wonder what the actual product is
maybe it's an advertising company, who knows
Watch this somehow be real and all of us end up looking like idiots :v:
As fake as it is, it makes me wish this thing was real. It looks like so much fun.
Maybe they filmed it in space
It looks like earth because it's a green screen silly

No need to feel stupid, they never explained the science.
i dont think this is fake guys this product has more technology in it than satellites sent into space in 2010. thats a lot of technology i don't think they would put so much technology into a fake product
If it was real they'd focus on the tecnology first and foremost, not random people talking buzzwords.

AFAIC it's fake until they explain the science, or live demonstration. Quite a few anomalies in the video too.
Like the person above me said, his knees are bent yet they straighten out as the board lifts off? Only makes sense if being lifted.
Do you really need to analyze that deeply to tell it's fake?
2:34 you can see the girl is lifted prior to the board, she must be wearing a harness that they CGI'd out.
