Also, think about this Glaber. You said "the Smithsonian had to pull this stunt", as if this were a calculated sort of thing that they designed to offend as many people as they could to get an audience or something. Do you really think the Smithsonian was thinking less "this is a thought-provoking piece that comments well on the state of ____" and more "ha ha this'll piss off those stupid christians"? Also do you support Donohue in any way?
Do you really think the Smithsonian was thinking less "this is a thought-provoking piece that comments well on the state of ____" and more "ha ha this'll piss off those stupid christians"?
The artist? Yes. The gullible Smithsonian? No.
The artist? Yes. The gullible Smithsonian? No.

. "In fact, the artists's intention was to depict the suffering of an AIDS victim. It was not the museum's intention to offend. We are removing the video today. The museum's statement at the exhibition's entrance, 'This exhibition contains mature themes,' will remain in place."
So apparently whatever the artist says is just total bs.
The artist? Yes. The gullible Smithsonian? No.
It was most likely trying to get to them to send a message, not just to troll them. They are stubborn and do not listen to anything, this is a good way to get their attention at least. They certainly might think they are stupid but the intention was not just to piss them off.
So apparently whatever the artist says is just total bs.
Since blinking lights and jars of shit pass as art, I'm inclined to believe that artists secret conspire to think of what sorts of inane nonsense they can pass museum for thousands of dollars. [editline]1st December 2010[/editline] This is disturbingly similar to an old Onion article: http://www.theonion.com/articles/national-endowment-for-the-arts-crafts-criticized,1160/
I bet that's how Jesus would really feel if he knew how much the church had abused his name over the past 2000 years.

“The crucifix, covered with ants, represents the lack of attention to Christian teachings in that Christian morality has been cast to the ground and the teachings of Jesus abrogated by speaking in his name. In the film this represents that the most vulnerable and the most in need are the most aggressively attacked.”
So pretty much what you said.
I really cant believe can get offended this easily. its not shit or anything, its just ants
Since blinking lights and jars of shit pass as art, I'm inclined to believe that artists secret conspire to think of what sorts of inane nonsense they can pass museum for thousands of dollars.
And this is why I do not support art museums being supported by taxpayer dollars, it's a complete waste of money, billions spent each year on something as trivial and vague as art. If it's funded by the public, fine, but not my tax dollars, especially when it has uncreative shit like this.
