Will this news article stop treating a TV show airing like a terrorist attack. That's one of the most blatant use of misleading keywords I've ever seen. [editline]07:52PM[/editline]
The British Broadcasting Corporation was behind it thank you very much. Not to mention, this isn't a fucking horror movie, this is Top Gear. Kindly note that Australia and Russia have their own Top Gear's. Also, it was cancelled, so stop whining, it's just the website is giving 5000 USD to whoever can supply them with the pilot.
I don't think you get it, this is all America's fault. Stop trying to say otherwise! We don't like you America likers around here.
It'd be much better if the USA just got the unedited Top Gear that only the UK gets.
After watching part of a Russian episode of top gear, I have to say it just isn't the same :saddowns: Seeing a TopGear without Clarkson, Hammond or May is like Ice Cream without the cream. It's ice. Top Gear would be ice in America. Case closed.
Wheres that site where I can watch top gear?
Wheres that site where I can watch top gear?
Holy crap, I was going to ask the same question!
Holy crap, I was going to ask the same question!
:derp:
please god no
That's a ridiculous amount for one episode.
I heard a rumor that the British Top Gear is getting canceled :ohdear:
The thing is though, are you likely to get this sort of thing in America?
I heard a rumor that the British Top Gear is getting canceled :ohdear:
I think they're only going to be doing a few more series
Clarkson is on about retiring i heard after a couple more series he's calling it quits and because Top Gear wouldn't be Top Gear without Clarkson they're just going to end it and make a new car review franchise, Hamster will carry on doing his little show's he does ( going back to brainiac apparently ) and May will carry on attempting to make the world out of toys and discuss drink with his elderly mate. [Rumor] also: sorry to say an American Top Gear just wouldn't cut it, stick with your pimp my ride's n shit
Might as well give up. Top Gear in the UK is the only Top Gear worth watching, and the reason is the Format fits the three hosts perfectly, and the three hosts compliment each other perfectly, you won't be able to recreate it They're like the modern three stooges, with fast cars
Best description I have ever seen. LIKE REPLACING THE SPARE TIRE WITH A TV.
I'm not a car guy, never have been. But top gear is so fucking entertaining that I could care less about knowing next to nothing about automobiles whenever i watch it. the antarctica episode is the best thing I have ever seen.
the american office is good better than the british office, the american one just seems more lively than the british one
American humor is terrible and I'm an american [editline]12:14AM[/editline] also they do air UK Top Gear here on BBC US
Top Gear couldn't work here. We don't have taxpayers, we have advertisements. It's impossible to review cars fairly when half the ads are for car companies. It will turn into: The Chevrolet Aveo is our favorite car ever. This episode of Top Gear brought to you by Chevrolet. Not to mention the fact that US seasons are generally around 20 episodes long instead of 8. Good luck getting NBC to agree to pay for production of a full hour long show for an entire season. [editline]05:46AM[/editline]
[editline]12:14AM[/editline] also they do air UK Top Gear here on BBC US
Two seasons late, and ten minutes shorter (to make room for commercials)
what does seasons have to do with anything? NBC isn't just going to turn them down, especially in their current state Seasons matter because unlike in the UK, American networks usually order the production of an entire season, which means they have to invest a large amount of money before they can see if it's going to be successful, and NBC isn't going to take any risks.

It seems very silly. And yes, I know that a car commercial is assured, but it doesn't necessarily have to impact the show very much. I know I don't care at all about barely any commercials, though I know I can't speak for everyone. Side note: I hope to get out of the South, move to the UK, and live there happily. Hopefully i will adopt an accent (I've done my best to keep the South out of my voice).
Might as well scrap the Russian and Australian ones too. :geno:
Please dear god scrap the australian one
The US has always failed at emulating British awesome.
What would they talk about in the American version? "Oh this car is very well suited for American roads. It can drive in a straight line." Most American roads suck. They're all straight and boring.
No matter how hard they try, they will not be able to re-create the chemistry between Jeremy, James, and Richard. I tried watching Top Gear Australia and I simply couldn't get into it. The hosts were enthusiastic enough, but they weren't the British trio we all love.
Most American roads suck. They're all straight and boring.
Because we take up over a third of the continent. Long, straight roads suit our needs. :pseudo:
Most American roads suck. They're all straight and boring.
What?! No roundabouts?!
Roundabouts are usually more common in, fittingly, New England. Addendum: BBC America dislikes airing new fucking episodes. Besides, the American version of Top Gear could of been all of the Americas.
