The U.S. violated Iran's airspace, and without even apologizing, they're asking for the drone back. Iran's refusal to give them the drone back is not a matter of "evidence if they [I]really[/I] wanted to ease relations" It's rather "oh hey, you violate my airspace to spy on us and we also have bad diplomatic relations (with that further worsening them), and on top of that you haven't even apologized? no thanks" Could you imagine if Iran sent a drone over the U.S.? Sanctions, continued statements of its provocation and how bad Iran is and laughter when Iran asks for it back.
