Let's see what lawsuit apple can come up with this time.
How come like facepunch loves it when samsung releases a new phone every year and rates OP winner
but when a new iPhone is announced the OP is filled with dumbs?
I'm really sorry for this post if this is just me being an idiot but seriously, let's be fair here?
I'm looking forward to see what they included, interested to see if samsung can beat apple's new benchmark
There's a difference, there are hundreds of Android devices and only one iPhone which they act like is an absolute godsend.
my s2 is less than 8 months old..
That's your fault for buying a S2 in February. The S2 released in Q1-Q2 2011 in the UK.
I don't understand all the fuss - I got my S1 at this point in 2010 with the S2 just around the corner, and I don't feel like I've missed out on anything. With the latest jellybean roms, it's as smooth as an iPhone - far improved from the point of sale where it was running 2.1 Eclair.
All that being said, I would love to upgrade but am still waiting for voodoo colour support. Hate the cold colour temperature on 99% of phones to the point where I would regret the purchase. Plus from what I've seen, the text banding and other issues from the S1 that Voodoo stuff fixed are still present on the S3.
S3 - 29 May 2012 S4 - March 2013. For those of that are bad at months, that is less than 1 year apart from the old one. WTF? Unnecessary
And this is going to be in direct response to the iPhone 5. They're probably going to stick an i9 in this new one or some shit, and it's crowning feature will be its ability to double as a Hot Plate for cooking purposes.
Bought a s3 like 2 month ago but who cares. You can't have the latest thing in anything now days. But I got my s3 for a good deal. The phone will cost me around $350 at the end of the payment.

the iPhone 5 benchmark thread got lots of winner ratings...
the iPhone 5 benchmark thread got lots of winner ratings...
Just wait for the thread where it says something like 'iPhone 5 has X amount of pre-orders/sales' and it will be showerd with hate comments towards the iPhone :v: (Same thing happens every year, see iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S)
Hopefully this drops the price of the S3. I figure when my teachers require me to text them when I'm sick and my phone doesn't have a texting function it might be time to upgrade to one of these modern "smart phones"
Progress is good, and so is competition. It all ends with a better end product.
Well, it'll most probably have a "real" A15 Exynos Quad, and with Krait already almost performing as well as the Exynos 4, we'd be looking at double the performance, really. The GPU would probably also be improved hugely, and they'd probably drop the Pentile screen arrangement for a "real" RGB one. It's an "incremental" update in the same way that the iPhone 5 is, but the difference is that the iPhone is late in the product cycle, and the SGSIIII would be quite early - and that's a big difference.
I'm okay with having more options as a consumer. Just means when I can get a new phone next fall I'll have more to choose from depending on my budget. I have no complaints.
It'll most likely sport the Exynos 5 Dual which will probably run at 1.5Ghz-1.7Ghz. Like GoDong-DK said they'll probably use a non-pentile display like the one found in the Note II. The GPU (Mali T-604) is 5x faster than the current Mali-400 found in the SGS 3/2. The CPU is nearly double the performance of the Exynos 4420 Quad.
Also it may support USB 3.0 and use Samsung's new mobile flash memory which is very fast, we could be seeing HDD transfer times here!

These are legitimate reasons to make a new phone.
All we need is good software and the phone not looking like a pebble, then we are sold.

I honestly have nothing against the SGSIII's design - sure, it's not a Lumia 800, but it's not ugly at all in person.
It's no suprize, not only do they have to compete with apple but apple just took over 1billion from them so now they also need money...

Looks too pebbly, would not buy.
Honestly, the Iphone never had a matching rival.
