Correct me if I am wrong but hasn't the single player basically been doing that since cod2 ?
Ill correct you, every single cod game prior to cod2 was essentially "every single war film and tv series you can think of: the game" the entire us campaign acoss both cod and uo is essentially band of brothers and the russian campaign is enemy at the gates. Throw in the dirty dozen, navarone, longest day ,eagles dare, dam busters and you're almost good to go. Wanna get real anal about it, the original devs came from medal of honor, the series that bought saving private ryan to our pc monitors. It's what they've always donen. For people to call em out on it now is stupid.

this does not deserve the title of the most disliked gaming video ever
The BF4 developer's tweet was right, that looks like garbage.

"They've always been shitty let's just accept it" is a dumb defeatist attitude. Personally, I want them to actually give a fuck so when I get round to releasing something I won't have to dumb my game down just to get people remotely interested in it.
I feel like putting an entire fan-loved game behind a paywall of another game is going to cost them more money than its going to make them. I would consider buying cod4 remasters standalone, but it's an absolute no if I have to pay 80 dollars in pre-order money to get it. Pre-orders are already an anti-consumer scam as is it.
Nah I think they will make more money this way. They know that the average person's willpower is weak and would eventually give in and preorder anyways.
I think it looks kinda cool honestly. I like the robots. Although, I am not really a huge fan of COD style gameplay.
My bet is they are going to require you to get IW to play it until sales drop off then sell it standalone.
That would be even shittier. That'd mean that there was literally no reason to hold the Remastered version hostage to begin with, just Activision being extremely greedy.
That would be even shittier. That'd mean that there was literally no reason to hold the Remastered version hostage to begin with, just Activision being extremely greedy.
Welcome to business.
The BF4 developer's tweet was right, that looks like garbage.
Why? How does it look like garbage?
Why? How does it look like garbage?
It's a CoD game in space. Looks like a lot of it will be on rails too.
It's a CoD game in space. Looks like a lot of it will be on rails too.
Being a cod game in space makes it garbage? I don't follow.
Being a cod game in space makes it garbage? I don't follow.
Yes. It's called an opinion.
lmao if they sell modern warfare remastered standalone it probably will sell even more copies then infinite warfare
How is it wrong to give criticism on them not innovating after all this time? "They've always been shitty let's just accept it" is a dumb defeatist attitude. Personally, I want them to actually give a fuck so when I get round to releasing something I won't have to dumb my game down just to get people remotely interested in it.
Because I dont have a problem with CoD single player campaigns. And this one actually looks far more interesting, thats why.
I think it looks kinda cool honestly. I like the robots. Although, I am not really a huge fan of COD style gameplay.
Same. The trailer looks nice, though the multiplayer gameplay probably won't be anything like it.
lmao if they sell modern warfare remastered standalone it probably will sell even more copies then infinite warfare
There's a huge chunk of CoD fans who are pissed off at IW something fierce. Many of them would totally go for CoD:MW remastered over the Infinite Warfare (IW, hmmm), and that's missed opportunity as far as Activision is concerned. If that flies, you can bet we'll see MW2 remastered bundled with their next game, that will have the interest of the other half of the disenfranchised crowd. And that's a big shame. I'm a big fan of CoD4, and Infinite Warfare by itself seems kind of interesting to me (despite what I said earlier about it being a Killzone ripoff, I love the setting and don't have a console, that's the closest I get to Killzone), but there's no way I stand for the bullshit the Activision is trying to pull here.
I don't even think the trailer was that bad. Honestly the space battles look fairly interesting and newish to the series, assuming it isn't a rail shooter which it probably is...
I'm pretty sure that the space battles will be the standard CoD "one cool looking set-piece that occurs in only one mission and then the story moves on and it's never brought up again" affair, like they always tend to do with potentially innovative/cool ideas like the active camo or the wingsuits or much of the other technology that's shown in their games.

You go from ground fighting to dog-fighting to commanding a bigass ship 'seamlessly' and it's how you get from one place to another.
People are going to buy Infinite Warfare just to get Modern Warfare remaster.
The game is whatever but it really bothered me that they threw Space Oddity in there.
You know. It's Halo OST ! That's what it looks like!
That trailer was especially bad... I mean really bad. I couldn't believe I was watching an official trailer. The cheesy slow motion was unbearable.
People hate it because of the CoD4-remastered thing. Rightfully so, forcing you to have one game to buy another one is an unprecedented scumbag decision. And a terrible precedent to establish. It's not like Youtube dislikes will change anything though, Activision knows that fans can't help themselves. "Dislike all you want, boycott all you want, we both know we have your money already".
Funny, Michael Bay said the EXACT same thing with TF4 and the Bayformers films coming out soon. It's quotes like that makes me think if anyone in Activison actually cares about player feedback for future games or even their current ones. It's like they treat the remaster like a PS2 HD collection product to earn some extra cash for one bundle.
I thought Futuremark got to keep the rights to those games.
This is the reason why Shattered Horizon is no longer sold:
Yes, I am sorry to say that Shattered Horizon is no longer for sale in any region. As Unbenannte said, we sold our game studio to Rovio in 2012. Futuremark is 100% forcused on making 3DMark and other benchmarks now. We're a small company and can no longer spare the time and people required to support our old game titles. Since we will not be able to fix the issues with ranking, leaderboards and stats we decided to take the game down from Steam. As someone who worked on Shattered Horizon, it makes me sad to see it go, but it feels like the right thing to do. If you own Shattered Horizon you can still play single-player and multiplayer on community servers, though stats are no longer being collected. If you have a CD-key from a promotion or gift, you will still be able to redeem it for a copy in Steam. On behalf of everyone at Futuremark, and the ex-Futuremark Games Studio crew, thank you for buying and enjoying Shattered Horizon. "See you on the flipside."
https://steamcommunity.com/app/18110/discussions/0/35222218555978649/ Shame, because it's an amazing game that had bot support added late in life. If you still want to buy it there's CD-Keys going for $3+ on Kinguin and other CD Key Resellers.
I don't get the butthurt over the David Bowie cover. His music is as mainstream as Queen and ACDC. It's fitting that his most popular song is played to a videogame (again). Are you gonna feign outrage when Prince's shit gets thrown into a Suicide Squad trailer too? :smug: He's not a martyr.
Yes. It's called an opinion.
An opinion that you can apparently only support by making the obvious observation that, yes, it is indeed an opinion. "It's different, so it sucks" isn't ever a good argument, especially when what you're talking about isn't actually all that different.

How many CoD games have you played? When I play CoD I expect it to be somewhat grounded in reality. The entire series was built on that, not fucking space battles. When I play Halo I expect space battles. If they made a Halo that was set in WW2, that'd be a shit game just as much as CoD in space. So yes, a CoD game in space sounds like it's gonna suck ass. If a new Counter Strike game came out and it was in space then that sounds like it's gonna suck ass. CoD is no different.

Being in space probably isn't going to significantly effect the gameplay, or even the plot for that matter. Also "grounded in reality"? Try "grounded in James Bond".
