I can picture it now...
A trailer is shown, the words "HALF LIFE 3" fade on to the screen, everyone cheers, some are crying. Suddenly, more words fade in, "HALF LIFE 3DS" is announced, A horribly cut trailer plays in the background with random clips of abattoir work put in. Gabe rolls on stage tongue kissing Iwata and Reggie. People are crying, most screaming in disgust and disappointment, some people are throwing up. Mario hat DLC for TF2 appears on screen with seizure inducing flashing. Some people start frothing at the mouth. He stops his sloppy makeouts and looks at the audience with a deadpan face and says:
"Worth the weight"

What's with Valve related presentations and getting people to pull out and show off their imaginations?
I'm seriously really interested in the future of the gabecube in terms of software. Just how PC is it gonna be? Will it have exclusives?

Am I on 4chan?
There aren't even any original or funny jokes to make about HL3 anymore, it's been that long.
Remember "Gabe is fat, ep3 delayed"?
"Mister Newell! Mister Newell! Where's Half-life 3?"
"Let's talk about the Steambox and its interesting controller"

It's taken so long that he's losing weight and has grown a beard in a slow and elaborate process to eventually cosplay Gordon Freeman at Half Life 3's launch.
Am I like the only person that couldn't give two shits about L4D3? I mean it's a good game, but Christ it gets boring fast for me.
That's probably because you have no real friends to play it with.
Oh boy can't wait for $700 steam machine announcements and a $60 controller!
Edit: Called it, nice work Valve I can't wait for them to delay some fucking games after this disaster.
That's probably because you have no real friends to play it with.
my friends only play it while piss drunk and even then we can't finish the entire level.
I am honestly more curious about Steam Machine than any their game franchise.
Games are dime a dozen, Steam Machine might flop spectacularly or entirely change the scene.
Valve doesn't make games anymore, silly.
Oh I forgot about that. Portal 2, Dota 2 and CS GO don't exist.

yes, you're the only one in the entire universe. Congratulations.
I'm open to L4D3 but only if the development had proper time and effort put into it. We can all agree that L4D2 was less polished than L4D. Even Valve themselves said they made L4D2 to see if they could make a quicker sequel and didn't like the experience.
It doesn't matter though because we aren't getting any game news from this.
Valve doesn't make games anymore, silly.
Valve has released a game almost every year since their inception
No
You say no but your heart says yes

it's like emotional rape
Crysis was 7 years ago

Half-Life 1 was 16 years ago.
portal 2 2011

Oh, and that's why Portal 2 doesn't count as a game? Just because it's 2 1/2 years old?
100 heroes that had to be conceptually developed, modelled, animated + music, voice acting, constant balancing and so on. I don't think you realize how much work and time is put into this game.
It's not just a simple remake. Everything is redone. It had as much work and time being put into like any other triple A title.
Didn't people complain that Valve didn't release any small game like Day of Defeat Source for a long time?
Valve doesn't make games anymore, silly.
Yeah, I'm certain that all of the game-specific talent (environment artists, level designers, scriptwriters, etc) that aren't working on Dota 2, CS:GO, or TF2 are just sitting around jerking off, getting paid by Valve.
I mean, I understand why people like to say that Valve doesn't make games anymore, but it'd be impossible for them not to be working on either a new engine or a new game right now.
Max Payne was 12 years ago.
Half-Life 1 was 16 years ago.
DOOM was 30 years ago.
Mario was 57 years ago

Especially since they have announced to be working on a new engine.

We know for a fact that L4D3 is under active development.
I feel like the only person that appreciates the fact that Valve want to do more exciting things than just release another half life. Would you rather spend a couple years making another half life after you've done nothing but half life or would you want to work on stuff like VR.
Sorry I mean gabe u fat idiot wher is half life 3 lol u dont make games anymore

Honestly, I think they've had plenty of time to work on non-HL projects now.
They need to cut the "It's a secret!!!!!!" crap and at least say something that confirms the game's existence, it's pretty unfair considering how they have been extremely public about their other projects.
DOOM was 30 years ago.

half life episode 2 was actually first made on mars 200 million years ago. the hl2 we know today is just a copy
Gimmicks at 8PM

But what if they aren't actively making another half life. They never say anything about it because there is nothing to say. The trouble with half life is that it was a fairly plain singleplayer first person shooter, the only way they got away with releasing episode 2 was by releasing it alongside tf2 and portal. I'm going to bet they only release another half life when their new engine is done. Like it or not games like dota and counter strike are way more relevant than half life.
