For people who say they're not showing games on CES. What if valve uses l4d3 to demo steambox?
If I'm not mistaken, it's in 8 hours from now?

no guys ep3 steambox exclusive
I am really hoping for a Steam 2.0, redesigned Steam application to work more responsive is more than welcome, perhaps introduce a feature to stream your games.
Is it sad that the only thing I care about this CES is the Oculus Rift? I mean, I'm not even that interested in what Valve is doing.
portal 2 2011 dota 2 remake of dota icefrog csgo remake of cs 1.6 small team
Don't try to compare csgo to 1.6, their pretty different. Valve isn't doing nothing, but a new ip might be nice.
I heard they're announcing that the next Half Life will be a community made project, and that they have set up the Git repository for us.
HL3 is just going to eventually end up on the store suddenly with no hype-up and all the ancient philosophers or whoever the hell will be like 'fuck I can't get my tinfoil boner on'. To stay on-topic, I'm really excited to see if it's yet more information about the Steam machine, or maybe even something they've yet to reveal tech-wise (which might be super neat).
Is the conference going to be streamed?
I want to know when we can buy that controller.
Is it sad that the only thing I care about this CES is the Oculus Rift? I mean, I'm not even that interested in what Valve is doing.
Not sad. Steambox isn't remotely interesting. The controller kinda looks interesting but nothing I am too excited about.
Is it sad that the only thing I care about this CES is the Oculus Rift? I mean, I'm not even that interested in what Valve is doing.
Valve are just trying to make sure PC gaming is still here tomorrow, it's not exciting for everybody like the Oculus Rift is.
Valve has released a game almost every year since their inception
Since the original release of Half-Life, Valve have released a game every year except for 2002.
Honestly, I think they've had plenty of time to work on non-HL projects now. They need to cut the "It's a secret!!!!!!" crap and at least say something that confirms the game's existence, it's pretty unfair considering how they have been extremely public about their other projects.
They've never done the "It's a secret!!!!!!" crap, Gabe has said they're silence about it is because of all the twists and turns that have been made in the development and they don't want to get anyone unnecessarily hyped.
There's a difference between "Valve doesn't make games anymore" and "Valve doesn't make new IP anymore". Valve hasn't put out a new IP since L4D. I, for one, would love to see a new IP from them.
I want to know when we can buy that controller.
Yeh this is what I'm most looking forward to, would be nice to grab one for my PC and see how it works out. Thats if they sell them separately. Also, looking forward to the number of partners they have lined up with the Steambox stuff and how many they'll have available when they start releasing. I want it to be popular, for Steam & PC Gaming's sake.
thought the stream was on now

I, for one, would love to see a new IP from them.
Left 4 Dead wasn't actually Valve's original idea, they bought the studio making it and took over development. Though that doesn't mean they're not creative. When Valve purchases an IP they usually bring in the entire development team, meaning the creativity that made that IP are now at Valve.
It's Consumer Electronics Show. Electronics. Not games.
Not to burst a bubble, but it's an electronic game on electronic technology. I mean it's not a games focused convention, but it could happen. Especially if Valve wants to talk about their products. Edit: Wow holy I am late.
People are saying Valve doesn't make new IPs anymore ? But who does ? It's sequels, sequels, DLCs, sequels... (I am talking about AAA here) Half Life, Team Fortress, Dota, Counter Strike, Left For Dead, Portal... that's more than some publishers have. Eg. id software... between quake 1 and rage they didn't make a single new ip... ( and now they are doomed :( )
I heard they're announcing that the next Half Life will be a community made project, and that they have set up the Git repository for us.
Merge it with Jaykin Bacon. Watch the shitfest unfold on itself.
Is there going to be a stream? All I can find are these live blog things.
Is there going to be a stream? All I can find are these live blog things.
There won't be a stream unless one pops up within an hour.
