Do you happen to live on the planet earth? I'm actually baffled by how you think that it's clear neither of them will win when all of the contrary evidence says otherwise. Like the chances of Hillary and Trump /both/ losing the nomination are extremely low.
Hillary is losing support among the democrats and trump won't get the nomination in a contested convention. What evidence other than early support demonstrates either will win? Get a grip man, neither are gonna be president
Now watch as this movement get hijacked.
but his chances are shot??
So long as theres still a possibily that he may pull through, no matter how slim, saying that he won't win is quite simply defeatist and serves no purpose.
Most people simply don't care. This is a fact that transcends borders: most people don't give a fuck about politics. In fact, the democratic race, despite having such an energizing candidate like sanders, is turning out record lows because of how little most people care. Nobody cares
I thought that there were record highs across the country for caucuses and elections though?

Well I misspoke about record lows, but democrat turnout is on par with the last 20 years of elections (with the last 8 years being exceptions since they're both outliers). Republicans, on the other hand have record highs
I don't see how Occupy having no clear complaint is necessarily a bad thing. It was an outpouring of anger and discontent at the current political/economic state of play; most folks used it as a platform for drawing attention to one small issue or another. One would expect such a thing to be kind of unfocused and decentralized, and it at least brought the issue of income inequality further into the public discourse.
Provide a citation for this or concede your point.
Haha okay dude http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/03/08/so-far-turnout-in-this-years-primaries-rivals-2008-record/ 11% this year for dems. Barely higher than anything since 1992. 2008 was an outlier cause of how shit the country was and 2012 was an outlier because obama ran unopposed

Snip misinterpretation

Shes got an fbi investigation looming over her head and a huge untrustworthy rating. How in the world could clinton win?
Note how the article you cited explicitly states that voter turnout is on the rise which contradicts your assertion that no one cares. Good work.
Note how it similarly says that despite the small rise since 1996, overall turnout in the last 40 years has been on the decline especially on the democratic side while republican turnout has stayed steady and drastically increased this year. Now maybe put away the condescending jabs and actually discuss the topic? That I said "most people don't give a fuck about politics". Even if there has been a 1-2% increase in 20 years, 90% of the population still doesn't give enough of a shit to choose who they want to represent them in the general election. Most people don't care about bernie or hillary
And then nothing happened
That's wrong. People have been talking about it, exchanging ideas. There's a renewed critique of modern capitalism and politicians are at least in their words beginning to address concerns about wealth inequality. It simply isn't enough, for sure, but you can't honestly claim Occupy had no effect. You'd have to be an idiot to expect some kind of revolution coming out of it.
90% of the population still doesn't give enough of a shit to choose who they want to represent them in the general election. Most people don't care about bernie or hillary
Or they keep hearing jaded people tell them it doesn't matter and no one cares, and so they stop bothering to do something about it?

They went to occupy, sat in a drum circle, got high, compared gauged earrings, talked about it, felt good about themselves, and then went home. Nothing happened
where r u going with this?
He had said there would be backlash which would make the occupy movement look tame. I contended that most people (90% of democrat voting population) simply don't care enough about politics to protest perceived corruption.
Right. They went to occupy, sat in a drum circle, got high, compared gauged earrings, talked about it, felt good about themselves, and then went home. Nothing happened
Who is "they"? I was at the Occupy protests, no one there felt really good about themselves. It felt hopeless, and the only solace people got was being in a place where they could express their discontent and have a frank discussion about the systemic issues in our society. You seem to be on a mission to shit all over anyone's attempt to derive meaning or nuance from this.
Right. They went to occupy, sat in a drum circle, got high, compared gauged earrings, talked about it, felt good about themselves, and then went home. Nothing happened
This guy understands, occupy was a massive messy joke.
Come to think of it I know for a fact that at least part of the occupy LA protests weren't nearly as peaceful as hes trying to say. I was locked in a building for 4 or 5 hours because the police told us it was too dangerous to leave.

There were a handful of iconic moments like the former cop being arrested or the university students being maced, but there were also a TON of pictures of kids just getting high and shouting meaningless chants like "we are the 99%". It was just a way for our generation to feel like we've contributed. This is how capitalism works: it allows people to criticize it, to attack it, call it hurtful names, hurl allegations at it, and threaten to overthrow it. What came of that? Did the occupy protestors return the next day with makeshift weapons and barricades like the ukranians did in 2013? Did they resist more and more, forcing the police to more and more violence like the ukranian did in 2013? Did they keep fighting, causing the president to flee the country like the ukranian did in 2013? No, they went home to reddit and talked about it and then nothing happened
Short of literal revolt, what are you expecting people to do?
More than facebook activism? Call your congressman, campaign for the opposing congressman? Go door to door. Raise awareness? I'll bet you my college debt that 90% of the people at occupy have not carried through with any of their political beliefs since then. I bet the most they've done to fight income inequality is buy a bernie 2016 bumper sticker and make snide comments about "Shillary" whenever her name comes up in the news.
And you've done these things too I assume?
He's a moderate democrat who likes Hillary and the current way things are done, he doesn't really have to do those things for Hillary since she's the front runner. Not saying that is at all a bad thing though, the one good thing about Hillary is that she's more of the same which means stability at the very least, even though she is otherwise undesirable (to me anyway).
snip wrong thread
