Too bad their last name isn't Cox
I know a Cox at my school she's fat
I will name my son... Shepard-Commander
I'm gonna name my son Maximillian. If I have a daughter, same name. They'll be so fucking badass. :v:
?
Gonna name my kid Toilet Paper.
Those are decent names, but Like by itself is a word, and a word doesn't make a good name because it leads to confusion, and it's not even a noun, it's a verb!
What about Jack?
What about Jack?
Well that name apparently actually has a history, according to a website I found on Google showing name origins
Derived from Jackin (earlier Jankin), a medieval diminutive of JOHN. It is often regarded as an independent name. During the Middle Ages it was very common, and it became a slang word meaning "man".
So it's not like "Like" in the way that it's literally just a verb they took and said "let's use this as our kid's name!"
My names is Jonas and it means "Pigeon". I was very disappointed when I found out because I was expecting something meaningful.
Let's see... "Like Faure". Fuck no. I'd rather be named Link.
If I remember correctly, some African soccer player named his kid Trendy, based off of trends on Twitter.
Like wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact it's after fucking Facebook.
So the guys last name is Adler which means eagle, so his daughter is named "Like Eagle"?
Well okay, that one's alright.
Except Vash isn't honey in Hebrew It's Dvash [editline]18th March 2012[/editline] Still pretty cool for a name though
"In our opinion it's the modern equivalent of the name Ahava [Love]," Adler told Israeli newspaper Maariv. "It's just my way of saying to my fantastic daughter, 'Love'."
After reading that bit, I think that's quite a nice sentiment. It kind of makes sense when they explain it in that fashion.
Poor kid. I hope she does something to try to change it.
Jesus you guys don't seem to understand that not everyone speaks English
Jesus you guys don't seem to understand that not everyone speaks English
How does that change the fact that it's a horrible and stupid name. And I'm fairly certain they live in a English speaking country.

People would probobally call her Laika anyway.
Not to worry about her trouble at school because of her name. Those golden sweet little kids will probably invent a nickname for her to make it easier to identify her. Something along the lines of "cunt."

His name wasn't actually Radio, that was just a nickname
This reminds me of the Who's on first sketch.
The only name I agree with from this family is Vash. Other than that, this family is insane, and their daughters will pay the price in the future. Literally, since I'm sure they will all legally change their names when they are older.
Vash sounds like a cooler name than Pie or Like.
I don't get that. My names Clinton and EVERY fucking person over 20 I meet say "OH! Like the president!?". Yes. I'm an Australian boy named after a past American President... I think for my kids I'll just write random letters and nickname them. "vnurei" Done. But I probably named it after something hey.
Mine is Felton :v: Some say, what like the guy who acted out malfoy in harry potter? I'm like no because that's his surname. [SP]Some also say feltip as a joke D:[/SP] :v: but others think it's a cool and different name. I like having a different name
Unique Amichai (My parents are still alive) Happy Aza (comfort) People have been naming their children random shit for centuries, why is it so weird when someone does it now?
Unique Amichai (My parents are still alive) Happy Aza (comfort) People have been naming their children random shit for centuries, why is it so weird when someone does it now?
none of those are verbs [editline]1[/editline] or related to a feature on a website
Vash sounds like a cooler name than Pie or Like.
That's because we don't speak their language, and we don't instantly equate Vash to a noun/action. I imagine they feel similarly about the English-inspired names they chose. And really, I think it's quite a nice sentiment. Not only do they love their daughter (which, as they said, "Like" to them is simply a synonym for "love"), but it shows they understand that she'll be born into a world much different than the one they grew up in, and are embracing that in their own way. Honestly, I think it's a nice name anyway, if you can appreciate it phonetically instead of simply "durr hurr its facebook." And personally I'd take the name Like if it meant being born to parents that were very open-minded and accepting in a country full of strict traditionalists.
I don't see anything wrong with the name, their isreali after-all so they will be speaking their common isreali language not english so "like" should not be very common.
I don't see anything wrong with the name, their isreali after-all so they will be speaking their common isreali language not english so "like" should not be very common.
English is widely spoken in Israel.
none of those are verbs
Skip, Chance, Chuck, Jack, Hope, Judge, Chip, Buck, Will, Don, Pierce.
or related to a feature on a website
That doesn't have any relevance at all. It's no more stupid to name your kid after a website feature than naming it after anything else.
