Ah yes you're right! [editline]27th December 2011[/editline] Wrong. Canada has significantly lower gun ownership than the United States.
I think it's the fact that he's not a citizen of UK, but a student that moved from India to UK.
At least someone got it The point is it doesn't look great for the UK, come here to study and wind up getting murdered
Yeah I live in Manchester. Lot's of racism up here, people who wear a Burka get called "filthy ragheads" and whatnot, so race was relevant I guess. Not heard of gun crime recently though, Salford is pretty close to me.
What does him being indian have to do with this? This isn't the 70's, not everyone is a racist punk, the reason racism still exists is because everybody treats race like a big deal, its irrelevant.
This philosophy works for Morgan Freeman because he's fucking Morgan Freeman. He's rich and famous, he doesn't need to worry about trying to find work with prejudiced job interviewers or being held face down in the snow for 2 hours because he "matches the description of a burglar". I mean, for example, let's imagine this was a racist shooting. If we acknowledge that it was, we could try and take steps to combat the problem, and hopefully it would happen less or not at all in the future. On the other hand, if we go by your method, we deny that racism could possibly have been a factor, and sleep soundly knowing that racism doesn't happen anymore (unless of course we're indian, in which case we live in fear of being shot on the street, and hope that this whole "pretend there is no racism" thing makes it go away, sometime, somehow, maybe). See how your "ignore racism" solution only helps the people who aren't already being victimized by it?
