[t]http://i.imgur.com/rVRevrC.jpg[/t] Please do point out which of these apps I need to put on the start screen, which can't be accessed by pressing Win+Q or Win+W and then by typing their name.
They can be accessed by hitting start and typing their name. Put apps you use often, obviously. The same things you'd put on any kind of gui designed for quick access to applications. If you really only want to ever open applications by searching for them, that's fine and is probably quicker, but you're in a miniscule minority. The start screen is quick as hell to use compared to the old start menu.

But I think I'm going to rebind my Windows key to Win+Q. Thanks! EDIT: Couldn't rebind the Windows key, so I set it as a macro.
10.10 :v: more than likely it's 11
Metro/Win8 Desktop shell has always felt like a huge step back from W7's Aero Glass. I mean it's not a major issue or anything, but I do enjoy some frosty wallpaper showing through my window borders instead of what's essentially a more sleek Win95 shell
Windows 8's more convenient so if you want to show information you can essentially drag the window underneath the taskbar so you can view it like it's always on top without needing to download an external program to let you make it always on top [editline]May 7th 2014[/editline] imo.
10.10 :v: more than likely it's 11
Soon it will be like this... 1:00
10.10 :v: more than likely it's 11
probably 10.10 unless it's a major release 10.0 was released in 2001.
10.10 :v: more than likely it's 11
OS 10: Episode 1
I'm hoping one day Apple allows customizable themes without jailbreaking. I don't want a rainbow UI I want a sexy dark one not a bubbly fun one. Not saying it looks bad just not my personal preference.
10.0 was released in 2001.
oh my, back then the minimum RAM was 64 or 128 MB and now it's 2 GB at the time that 128 MB RAM cost $50 and the OS itself cost $129

Then I got a Windows 7 netbook because I realized that if I fixed it, I would be no different than those purposefully clinging to Windows XP. If they weren't so damn expensive, I'd get a new Mac.
I'm hoping one day Apple allows customizable themes without jailbreaking. I don't want a rainbow UI I want a sexy dark one not a bubbly fun one. Not saying it looks bad just not my personal preference.
flavours isn't jailbreaking. It's good.
10.10 :v: more than likely it's 11
You realize it couldn't be called "OS X" anymore then. They'd have to switch to OS XI (or probably something else entirely). I think it'll be still be 10.10 since they've already started the cycle of naming things after places in California, e.g. Mavericks
I miss the launcher from os9 :( and forge+anvil for marathon :( My grandfather is a mac user, he's been very upset with apple ever since OSX came out because "this shit is just like windows - command line driven" and he's not excited to see what they do next, though he'll never switch to anything else.

Nostalgic. Granted I used it in MacOS 7.5.5, but same difference. I'd argue with him that it revolves the least around the command line. Its just there since its still UNIX after all. But its not really worth arguing over either.

I thought it was just Apple trying to make their OS hip and edgy.
Mavericks is a place in California? I'm quite happy they're doing this, I was never a big fan of the round corners in OS X, probably because I've used Windows primarily up until I started using OS X around 3 months ago.
windows 7 has rounded corners too?
Windows 7's corners are even kind of crude too
10.10 -> 10.1 ????? OS 10 10.10 ??????
flavours isn't jailbreaking. It's good.
What's flavours?
http://flavours.interacto.net/ it was $15 but now it's $22. you can do lame stuff like this http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pCz26YcBFis/UnU02WxB8XI/AAAAAAAAK7s/KTkfEqbxhKQ/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-02+at+12.48.10+PM.png or cool stuff like pretend you're on the next version of osx already http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/100/1/9/ios_7_mac_theme_for_flavours__ios_7_blue_by_ccard3dev-d7dmk47.png
Hope it looks good! I got my first mac recently and I like it better than windows for things other than gaming. I'm excited!
10.10 -> 10.1 ????? OS 10 10.10 ??????
decimals ≠ version numbers this is why we have stuff like 10.1.1 and not 10.11 [editline]9th May 2014[/editline]
http://flavours.interacto.net/ it was $15 but now it's $22. you can do lame stuff like this http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pCz26YcBFis/UnU02WxB8XI/AAAAAAAAK7s/KTkfEqbxhKQ/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-02+at+12.48.10+PM.png or cool stuff like pretend you're on the next version of osx already http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/100/1/9/ios_7_mac_theme_for_flavours__ios_7_blue_by_ccard3dev-d7dmk47.png
I didn't know you could make stuff look flat. With the demo I made my Apple menu my cheesepuff favicon but it was pretty glitchy and the themes didn't show when i was in chrome so I uninstalled
Is that an early build of xorg?
NeXT's Workspace Manager. Basically what a lot of OSX and the old ipod GUI is based off.
