It's really just a matter of time before it's announced and confirms what we all pretty much know is going to happen.
Yeah, a couple of icons from the WebKit SDK is enough evidence to draw that conclusion.
Heh, what if they are trolling?

there is no "webkit sdk".
there is no "webkit sdk".
what you think they just hand you a text document and say "there's the source"?

yes. These are support libraries and are not part of WebKit.

Note "Installing Developer Tools" is a seperate category from "Getting the Code".

Webkit is open-source, you can get everything needed there.
I'm not gonna go anywhere near "Steam for OSX" until I actually see some code or strings related to it.
...except for WebKit itself.

It is nowhere next to the support libraries - therefore they aren't distributed together which means there is no SDK of any source with resources from Aqua.
[editline]04:50AM[/editline]
"sources" should be "sort".

Oh you mean the Aqua buttons? Again, I highly doubt the presence of Aqua buttons in what is an Apple product is much evidence for anything.
Cool, they can enjoy all 5 games.
...then what on earth did you mean in the first place? There are no generic WebKit icons and the only other icons labeled OS X are bespoke Steam ones. This is a follow-up story.

ah fuck it
thank god, I hate getting into "debates"
Wouldn't "all but confirmed" mean that it's everything EXCEPT confirmed?
Why does everyone but me use this phrase the way it makes the least sense
no, all but means: everything else except. which is why i don't get why people use this term to say "they have only done this" that's retarded.
they have all but confirmed it as it seems. but then again not since those buttons could just be a part of the webkit API as said earlier.

webkit does not distribute resources or an api either.
why would "stats" change without you even there to play
Proving bragging rights, boredom, jerking off over your TF2 inventory
Steam overwrites the window borders and controls, why would they use the dumb OSX icons on OSX if they ported steam to OSX?
Who knows, they still have some unused stuff from that p2p downloading system too. What if it's just some unused stuff or it was slipped in for some reason, just because they might have worked or played with the idea of a steam client for OSX and some files where left in the main version doesn't mean it's going to happen for sure.
Fuck Mac, I want my native Linux version.
[editline]12:36PM[/editline]
Steam going Linux might guide some indie developers to start thinking about releasing native Linux (Mac) versions of their games, as Steam directly supporting them, would make crossplatform publishing much easier.
It would be a huge step in cross-platform publishing. If they released it for Linux, it might cause more people to get Linux.
This push for the mac seems to be an effort to fill the void that has been caused by all the restrictions on apple store's part, (bikini's anyone). If steam becomes a competitor to the app store based more on a the free market then steam could take a huge chunk from apple. However, apple shuts down any third party store that sells iphone apps and it will be the same for ipad, on the other hand eventually some sort of GUI or interface will transfer over to all mac products, (the ipad as keyboard that doubles as a docking station).
But I haven't heard anyone mention that perhaps steam is also looking to be on the windows 7 phone.

And if there are Linux binaries in the future, then it might be on the android as well. Still, it's speculation on my end and just having steam on the max osx would be profitable enough.
That phone looks utterly stupid... the layour is crap, the iPhone and any other Smartphone has much better layout.
[editline]10:29PM[/editline]
goddamnit, where's the fricken edit button?!?!
I wish they made a client for iPhone, so you could chat with friends, check your stats, etc.
Want to check up on your friends on Steam? There's an app for that. iSteam.
http://www.telltalegames.com/macgames/
Somewhat related and possibly connected, since Telltale also uses Steam as a delivery platform.
I want a linux version.
How is this thread getting bumped?
I really hope steam sparks an interrest for developers to start making opengl games instead.
How is this thread getting bumped?
Probably because people keep posting in it.
YAY!!!!! :neckbeard:
With Wine it does, if you want to count that.
I'd be surprised if there was a port for Mac coming. I would have thought there'd be more demand for a Linux version.
Support paid OS's first, then OpenSource.
Thats how it goes :(
I'm pretty sure that Postal3 isn't going to run natively on the Mac - it'll use some 3rd party application that emulates it running on a PC.
