After his fianceé left him, he used his engagement ring to buy... Master Chief armor?

If I were engaged, and my fianceé left me, I would buy myself a nice, expensive downhill/freeride bike with the money from the ring.
Wow, how pathetic, I'd get myself a Mark V HEV suit!
I would totally buy a cool looking armor if something like that happened to me
That should be a suit of t-51b and you all know it. :v:
Good on this guy, it's better than drugs and alcohol! (I know it's already been said.)
That might be one of the best replicas I've seen.

Fuck that, Space Marines all the way.
Considering how many people would handle such situation, he took a pretty badass decision.

Retreat into a world of fantasy?
that's not an insult, hardline religious folk do that on a daily basis!
Disappointing considering how Halo is a generic piece of shit and the characters are completely generic and boring too with their "AI persecution complex >9000" and unimaginative appearance
Should have got a <insert edgy "random" game here> suit instead

You're missing the point. He got it because anyone can identify with him since he's so vague.

If you read OP, I think that was the point
There isn't any room for real relationships with this 2d cardbox cutout character
hence no pain if you are such a 2d creature
I don't know why you guys are saying it's a bad investment, this was probably one of the wisest decisions you could make out of a sad situation.
I admire this man
Would have rather bought a Stormtrooper outfit.

I'd rather stick with these guys, pure badasses if any of you read the Crimson Empire series.

God damnit this is a carbon copy of that one certain panel of spiderman comic with the captions that I cannot remember now. It's driving me crazy.
Respect for this man, yo.

Yeah I know right?
There are just so many games that take place on a giant galaxy destroyer/artificial donut planet overrun with humans trying to stop it from being used, extremist aliens who believe that it holds their salvation, a parasite swarm who want to eat everything, and ai who are following protocol all having a 4 way war.
It's exactly like call of duty in fact.
the broad strokes of the story are still rather generic, and you can't deny that
Well it would certainly make her feel like shit.
This is exactly what happened to me. Except I didn't get master chief armor. I let her keep the ring because I'm a schmuck.
Good on him. When your heart is broken, the worst thing to do is sit around and look at shit that reminds you of that person. Get up and do something for your self and you'll feel 10x better, even if it's only for a hour. Just got to keep moving.

Yeah, here comes my semen - better wear a bodysuit
A new tradition is born
Buy a Master Chief costume if your wife left/broke up with you.

Jesus H. Christ.
I'm a major un-fan of typical wargames. But i goddamn love the HALO series like crack. I don't know why. And your comment was needlessly vile and confrontative.
A side note: If you find the game's story unpleasing then try the novels, they are a massive improvement and clarification.
This reminds me of that one Halo themed wedding where the Pastor was the one wearing Master Chief armor.

OP,
I totally know what it's like to go through the woods over a girl like that. For me, I had a necklace (masculinity -1) that my cousin brought from the Amazon for me (magic +1) break on the same day it ended with the girl. I remember how ecstatic I was when my cousin offered me a new one from that same trip she took.
Seriously, well done. Inner peace is hard to find.
i dont like halo that much but i do want a master chief suit
Honestly, I think this is the smartest investment ever.
Every man has wanted to this.
Bitch broke up with you? Chuck it all. Buy halo suit.
I would have got the mark v instead, if it was available somewhere.

I don't care if it's Halo, that suit is fucking cool
