Fucking finally.
stuff like that doesn't just "break"
Network cards are fragile like any circuit board, you drop it and you'll probably need a new one, saying that only criminals need to change MAC addresses is like saying you should ban power drills because they only thing they're good for is drilling locks out.
Or, watch too much CSI.
Zoom and enhance that IP address
Zoom and enhance that IP address
Pinpoint the coordinates, turn on satellite camera to track the suspect.
UK has been doing this for years correct?
Does that mean that all the emails Qwest keeps sending me about DMCA notifications are finally ignorable? Out of all the shit I HAVE downloaded, not one of them was on the notification, it was all random bullshit that I hadn't even heard of.
This happened to be once. Some software company contacted me and declared i had downloaded their software and that i need to buy it but we had never heard of them before. Total joke.
Let's hope other Countries follow suit and it puts a stop to this ludicrous system that many Law firms have of sending cease-and-desist letters en masse and scaring people into paying them (and their clients) money on the basis that they have your IP as proof of illegal activities and will sue the fuck out of you if you don't pay them what they ask.
Fucking finally. I keep getting cease and desist letters for an IP address that isn't mine.
Quite easy to just start tracing via MAC addresses, unique to everyone so no way to blag your way out of it.
Source and destination mac addresses change from switch to switch or router to router so.......
Fucking finally. I keep getting cease and desist letters for an IP address that isn't mine.
Post the letters.
Fucking finally, hope this spreads and gets to the supreme court, it's a big "fuck you" to the RIAA. This is the very reason why trying to catch and sue pirates is stupid, you can never be sure it was the person you think it was unless you actually look into their PC, for that you need a warrant which I'm sure the RIAA would have a hard time getting, specially if this got passed by the supreme court.
And even then you can't be so sure, because one of my friends could have came over, watched porn, and deleted history... but its on my pc
Took them long enough.
And even then you can't be so sure, because one of my friends could have came over, watched porn, and deleted history... but its on my pc
I'm pretty sure you're responsible for your computer actually, that won't get you out of it.
And even then you can't be so sure, because one of my friends could have came over, watched porn, and deleted history... but its on my pc
It's a valid defense, but it's really hard to prove, as it's a civil case on the onus of proof is equal for both parties. It's more likely that you did it, than some ninja hacker broke in and did it instead. So does this mean they can't fuck with torrenting? (Not like they were doing it alot, but giving it more attention.)
