Batman: Arkham Knight's PC port appears to be a disaster
Why is there a 30FPS cap in an AAA game in 2015. Especially in a game like Batman?
Because "maybe if we lock it to 30 people won't realize that a even 980 can't run the game at 60."
The previous games were all good, what the hell happened to this one
Iron Galaxy... I blame Dave Lang.
I got it free with my GTX 970. I would ask for an exchange for the other "free game", but the other free game is The Witcher 3, which I already have.
You could always give it away :v:
If Iron Galaxy did do the port, I have to wonder if they got tasked with it suddenly and didn't have any time to flesh it out.
Iron Galaxy also did the Arkham Origin's port, and that seemed to turn out fairly well all things considered. The game itself might not have been good but it didn't seem horribly broken.
This is why you don't out source your ports.
Preordering video games in 2015, get a load of these guys.
I felt smart for getting the premium edition for $35 instead of $100 but at least the people who bought it on steam can get a refund

Except you can't get a refund
And neither can I
what
arkham origins had a godawful port, it had all kinds of bugs and issues not to mention the basically non-functioning multiplayer
All the bugs AO had were on every platform
That's kind of good though, if it takes a major hit in sales and lots of people refund it they're bound to lower the price sooner so that it's possible to grab it for cheap and wait for it to be patched up. In fact, I might just do that now! Haven't been able to buy or run a new game in a long time, maybe I'll let this be the one

I could list off a laundry list of problems here but I'll leave you with just one.
Because of miscalculations, it's apparently impossible to get 100%. On another note, the costume you were supposed to get for doing so was taken out quietly.
Once again you can predict exactly what state a game is in by one simple detail: Were review copies given out?
If Yes: Confidence in their product and or they're actually being honest and open with everyone
If No: Trying to keep it under wraps as long as possible to get as much cash before word gets out, steer clear of this shit upon launch
And when system requirements changed hours before launch on top of that? Yeah it was painfully obvious something was up
I got it with my card and still feel cheated

This is persuading you to PURCHASE this game?! I hope to god this isn't the standard thinking for most gamers.... Jesus do I hope.
All the bugs AO had were on every platform
Does that include the game breaking one that causes the environment to disappear, and makes you free fall endlessly in an empty void when you reload? Because that bug is the reason I'm currently in the process of getting a refund, after buying it during the steam sale. ... I only played it an hour.
the deus ex guys are outsourcing again and pre-directors cut hr was pretty solid
Deus Ex is being prted by Nixxes, the only third party porting company I can think of that have a good reputation.

Probably not, maybe with the exception of those of us who can't afford new games and the hardware required to run them. I'm thinking about putting a new computer together this autumn so having this in my catalog for then would be nice. If I can save some money then that's great, since money is tight but I want this game and piracy is 100% out of the question for me.
What forum is that?
I can make my profile link to Ryan Moore, that doesn't mean I am
Neogaf, it's a bit hard to do that there. He's also been a member there for months, can't see the exact without registering but a quick google showed posts from april.

Regardless of this ass-backwards morality, there is a big leap of logic occurring in thinking that this game will be cheap sooner because of this.

Didn't they do the Tomb Raider port?
Can confirm: framerate on GTX970 gives me a headache 30fps at low intensity and 25 whenever anything is happening.

If you bought it in a store it's still possible they'll take it back if you tell them it doesn't work.
That's relatively usual in Germany at least.
If you bought it online but not on Steam you may be able to get a refund there.
I think I read a review where someone was able to refund through the Humble Store.
In any case the game is getting completely destroyed by the Steam reviews now.
For a short while the most upvoted reviews were almost all positive, but now it has <1/3rd positive reviews and practically every review among the top 50 is extremely negative.
Are you guys serious about instantly refunding this because of a bad launch?
I'm certain they'll patch out any problems it has in like a week; it really makes me wonder why you would pay full price to pre-order a game if you're willing to just give up on it so fast. For me at least, I only ever buy things full price on steam if I really care about the series.
Why would they release the PC version like this?
Habit, probably. It has become a bit of a de-facto industry standard to throw out a half-assed PC port to try to rake in a few more bucks. Happily, with Steam Refunds, we should see that standard thrown out in short order, as now people can get their money back at will.

Dude, tell this to the people who bought Dead Rising 3, or Sim City, or Halo Master Chief Collection or Assassin's Creed Rogue. This is not excusable.

Let's say you buy a car. You get it ten miles off the lot and the MIL comes on. It starts knocking. the transmission locks in third gear. The air con jams on full blast and the electrical system starts doing utterly random shit. Would you not want a refund on that junkheap?
Let's say you buy a computer. The power button doesn't work, so you have to open it up and jab two pins on the motherboard with a butter knife to actually turn the damned thing on. It literally puffs smoke out of the power supply when heavily loaded, the processor is unstable and the second RAM stick refuses to stay in the slot properly. You would want a refund on this, yes?
So what's the difference here? You'd want your money back if you bought a car that was this horribly broken right from the word go. You'd want your money back if you bought a computer this badly fubar before you ever got it. So why wouldn't you want your money back on a game that's ruined right out of the gate?
It isn't great. AMD's beta drivers get me a solid 30 on all low.
That being said, gameplay might be the best yet :v:
Thank god I got The witcher 3 with my card instead of this.
Was hyped for this game though. Fuck.
If I heard correctly, when you refund a game on steam, valve doesn't pay their cut, the dev has to pay the full price, so they lose some money; if a whole bunch of people refund their copies, WB will lose a whole bunch of money, and that might encourage them to fix the game, no?
