Do not know why they chose to host the world cup in South Africa, way too much instability in that region, I could definitely say that tourists who go to see the world cup will be killed over there, be it muggings, rape, carjackings, hotel rooms being robbed, its going to be bad. I can also speak from personal experience in this regard, my Managing director at my old workplace went to South Africa with a fellow MD to close a business deal regarding steel rolling mill machinery. They were in a taxi, had a laptop out, and two men with a rifle and a machete got them out and took pretty much everything from them, all the while threatening to chop their hands off and/or kill them.
