"oh well that robber who broke into my house said he was a police officer so what is the problem :downs:"
Yeah, but in this case the robber is in a wheelchair and his tires just went flat. This doesn't behave like SecuROM, so it's nothing to worry about.
okay firstly what the fuck do wheelchair tires going flat have to do with anything secondly, if there is a securom copyright in the manual, that's just complete proof that it IS securom. and if that wasn't enough, it creates securom registry entries, and yes, it DOES behave like securom.

And please do show any "proof" you have of this behaving exactly like SecuROM does, except for the alleged registry entries, which mean nothing at all. Also, you started the robber stuff. :colbert:
very well then, i challenge you to a duel of happy wheels
http://*********com/4gclms5
Yes, I work for EA. I'm not part of the PR department, I work on the DRM that's called Access that's included in the game. I dislike all DRM solutions like you guys, but I also dislike people claiming that an apple and an orange are one in the same. The whole problem behind this is that the user who got banned and couldn't access his game ran into a bug that was supposed to have been fixed. I personally tested that the fix existed well before Dragon Age II came out. The only SecuROM piece that anyone has seen is what Reclaim Your Games! shows as doing a binary check, and their program immediately assumes it's SecuROM. It's not, and that's why I'm trying to explain that it's a false positive. I hate DRM, I think that it's a waste of time and energy. If someone is going to buy the game, they're going to, and trying to lock legitimate users out of the games they paid for is not right. I've never been a fan of DRM, and I'm not now but it is part of my job. Yes, I also have the default avatar and I registered/posted an hour ago, because Marlamin had linked the post after I explained to him what the deal was.
no you don't work for ea you're a troll, which we all know
no you don't work for ea you're a troll, which we all know
Not really, I can confirm he works there actually. Lots of people work for EA, you know. (though i still hate them for buying out westwood back then)
I dislike EA!
Oh look, an EA employee. Forward a message up the ladder for me will ya? Your DRMs increase the piracy instead of reducing it. So you loose the money twice, first on the pointless and fast-to-be-cracked DRM and then again lost sales (because since you give gamers middle finger with your shit DRMs they will give you a finger back, instead of cash).
Don't sas EA employees. Because of the negativity I am going to close this thread. End of Line.

What I hear from everyone is that DAII blows anyway.

He didn't misspell end of line. It's a reference to Tron. 2. Your post is not the shinning paragon of capitalization. In fact I'd put it on the bottom of the scale of capitalization. 3.
for gods sakes, you're almost a gold member. i would expect better from you.
Why would you do that?

What fuckwits I wasn't thinking about getting this game, but even if I was I wouldn't now. I'd probably just go download some linux distros instead of wasting my allowance on this

I don't get what the fuss is about. Securom just checks if you have the legit disk in a physical drive, and it does it in the background. Unless this has install limits, I don't have anything against it.

Even if it doesn't have all the functionality of SecuROM it does have some and it's not an apples and oranges situation. It's more more like telling the waiter at the restaurant you're allergic to apples so he brings you apple slices instead, that's retarded. Also people who "work on" DRM probably don't, or shouldn't go online and bitch about how shitty DRM is, especially when they're usually small departments.
The only SecuROM piece that anyone has seen is what Reclaim Your Games! shows as doing a binary check, and their program immediately assumes it's SecuROM. It's not, and that's why I'm trying to explain that it's a false positive.
Also no, because there's still a date check, there's still registry entries, there's still binary checks, exactly what do you think people hate about SecuROM besides the parts that prevent them from playing their games because it seems those are the parts included.

Such as false positive checks for debuggers which results in your game ending or just preventing debuggers from being open in general which, if you do a lot of tinkering in IDA like i do and try to play any SecuROM game, will piss you the fuck off.
Anybody remember Spore? yeah, me too
I dislike all DRM solutions like you guys, but I also dislike people claiming that an apple and an orange are one in the same.
What does your DRM do that's different? What makes it better than the others? I can't find any documentation on your DRM, so you need to fill in the blanks. Most DRM software I see are essentially the same and make it harder for the user, therefore your "apples and oranges" look pretty identical.
I like the game, my friends like the game on both PC and 360. At least make a verdict of your own before saying, "I heard it blows anyways." Of course, this was a stupid move by EA, but I really don't see a huge problem with DRM/secuROM, but that's just me. It is a waste of time/money making/implementing though.
This kind of bullshit promotes pirating instead of discouraging it, why haven't they realized this?
Not really, I mean if I like a game I purchase it. DRM has never presented me any downfalls.

classic.
Hahaha, this securom bullshit. I know a guy who is a game distributor so I got a copy of Dragon Age 2 the day before release date. Anyway, you need to go through this online verification process when you first start the game up (otherwise you can't play the game) and, seeing as the game wasn't out yet, the check failed. It was incredibly easy to circumvent though, I just used an American proxy (as the game was already released in the USA) and the check passed.
This is why you don't buy from EA.
