So what happens when the older generation dies off because they're old and their care homes and NHS just abandon them?
Or will they miraculously discover immortality for old people to keep themselves in power?
Worse than that, I'm wondering what us in the younger generation will do as poverty and poor working conditions damage our lives despite us voting overwhelmingly against it.
I, for one, find myself questioning if I'd ever volunteer or donate to help frail and dying grumpy motherfuckers who voted against their own social and health care because they wanted to take their country back from the Germans. I guess if they think they're still 19 and this is still 1941 then fucking let them look after themselves.
even the cerebrum on wheels will vote labour

Maybe it's because the anti-net neutrality snooper laws will make things easier for the robots to take over everything.

Meanwhile, for ill-health or not, Abbott is stepping aside "indefinitely."
aka. being locked in a cupboard until this is all over

Diane Abbott is gone, for health reasons apparently.
If it's not for health reasons, I don't know why they did not do this a lot earlier.

If it is for health reasons - and she's recused herself because she's realised her ability to do her job is being affected - I feel sorry for her after those terrible interviews. I know what it's like to be unable to do your job because of sickness and nobody will believe that it's not the real you. It's always an excuse.

Well that's a shame for her if it is true. I've heard a few people say she has diabetes, which apparently can affect your performance heavily in that sort of thing

Certainly could. Have you seen Corbyn lately? He's absolutely shagged. If she's under that much pressure too it's no wonder she couldn't take it.

Was at that rally the day before last in Gateshead. He seems very energetic. He ran onto the stage, very pumped up.

Oh he's definitely still going at it. Maybe it's photo choice but he just looks haggard. Looking more like Theresa does every day. Respect to him for having the energy to keep on going, but I'll be gutted if he loses and goes back to being a shit opposition leader.
I can't wait for tomorrow to be over so people will stop sharing those stupid videos of who their favourite celebrity is telling you who to vote for

My hope is that if (when) the tories win, he'll be Britain's Bernie Sanders. Tory victory isn't the end of the world, unless the youth vote's been severely underestimated the best he can do is preserve the momentum that's been built for the next... five... years, oh god we're fucked.
I really think that May's brand of conservatives are much worse than Cameron tbh.
the only sense of joy that I'm going to get out of this election if the conservatives win is schadenfreude when the loudest working class tory supporters are the ones who suffer the hardest

the man - for better or worse - is an ironclad tank that's build to last. considering the seventy aeons of shit he's had heaped on him since he took over labor leadership the fact he's made it this far alone is pretty fucking admirable regardless of what you think of their politics.
I don't wish to sound snide or rude to anyone but. Whenever I hear people talk about 'silent voters' or the 'youth vote' I get flash backs to 'Bernie can still win this'.
I am not optimistic about this whole thing. I was maybe a week ago that maybe Labour could do it. And if not they could get in on a hung parliament. As it looks now, that is not going to happen and May will get in more than comfortably.
Damn, emigrating some where else is looking more and more appealing.
if this goes the wrong way then i'm probably going to emigrate. if i can't emigrate then i'm just gonna strap a load of fireworks to myself and hope they can carry me high enough that i'll pass out from hypoxia before they blow up.
Talking of drawing parallels with Bernie and the US election, I recall many people including FP'ers declaring they would emigrate in the event Trump won. How many do you think actually followed through? It's mostly melodrama borne out of frustration.
Can we get a FP poll going?
yes please

Realistically?
Probably zero, though to be fair this is something I was looking into way before the general election was called; About a year or so, researching options. Chances are I will not do it in the next year or so. Most likely around 2020 if I do end up doing it.
Corbyn needs a coup-de-grace right now. He can do that by exposing May's loathsome question-dodging history. The questioning of power cannot be marred or hampered by self-interest in the goal of not rocking-the-boat just before an election. My blood absolutely boils when I see entitled non-genuine politicians outright avoid questions as blabla to be disregarded. It really makes them look both cowardly and overly-entitled.

Sure, Starting tonight or Tomorrow morning?
There should be a differentiating between UK fp'ers and foreign fp'ers in the poll

Quite. It's been absolutely unbelievable that we have a combination of a leading party whose members believe that the people should vote for them based on a wing, a prayer and a shitload of faith, and an electorate who actually thinks that we should have faith rather than voting for ANY OTHER PARTY who has fucking answered questions put to them. Worse still, whenever any other party leader answers a difficult question well, all Tory voters say is 'Lalalala they're lying look at this 20 year old video of them saying the opposite' well God forbid anyone ever changes their opinion, like Theresa May on fucking Leave/Remain
[editline]7th June 2017[/editline]
The hypocrisy of the average voter has reached staggering levels. I don't see how we come back from this.

(not aimed specifically at you my bad i quoted the wrong post :v:)
It's not as simple as wanting to do it and having the convictions to attempt it either it's actaully being allowed to do it by outside factors. it's like when you're a kid, you how a row with your parents and then storm out the house and 'run away', great idea. What next?
"I'll get a job in Canada and live there", right, and why would they even want you in the first place, you got work lined up already? "No but i got qualifications" ah so you're gonna go and join the rest of the unemployed graduates already in Canada and hope for the best, because they're gonna just let you do that arnt they.
most of us are stuck here end of story. And that is fucking depressing.
I myself would love to fuck off to pastures new, but I won't and can't leave my disabled parents to the mercy of those blue tied cunts.

Yes, and that is why I have been researching into it to see what my options are (if there are any at all).
I am not doing this off the cuff and just shrugging thinking it would be an easy thing. I have been exploring the costings and the reality of the move on and off for the past four years or so, not just the economics and practicalities of it but how it would impact upon my family.
I know I cannot just click my heels three times and magic my way off to someplace else, that it requires a lot of money, a job on the other side, a clear criminal record and all the rest. I am working on it, could take years, decades, but I will be damned if I am going to let that stop me at least trying.

I recently got accepted into a European university and I'm damn tempted just to stay there after graduation.
Anyone gonna post a results thread or should we just keep this general thread for it? While I DO have an exam tomorrow so I won't be up that late, I should be able to post results until about 11, which will definitely have the final exit polls up, and I can update in the morning.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
