This isn't bias, it's propaganda.
says everyone about their opposing bias
lads you realise there are left-wing papers showing their bias too? it's what papers do
You're right, like this garbage. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBv5dvxXsAAJR2a.jpg:large[/t]
says everyone about their opposing bias
So why are you so supportive of the Tories and Theresa May? Any reasons or just partisan politics at play
So why are you so supportive of the Tories and Theresa May? Any reasons or just partisan politics at play
That came out of nowhere, lol
That came out of nowhere, lol
I just want to understand what about her, her policies, or the Tories, in general, are so appealing I've read through more of it than I probably should have, and I just frankly don't get why you would support them or her at any level but you post constantly in support and defense of them, so what's the harm in finding out why you think they're so swell
lads you realise there are left-wing papers showing their bias too? it's what papers do
Uhhh I can deal with bias, it's the outright lies and misinformation that bothers me. "Terrorist's friend" yeah alright mate, just like in the guardian.
Brexit... Trump... Corbyn? Could this be the 3rd surprise?
Exactly, I remember thinking how the SNP would outright win the independence referendum but silent voters absolutely killed them. Might be the same here :class:
Keep in mind guys, the big tory lead polls are modelling 2015 youth turnout (44%) while Brexit was at 64%. Even more youths are signing up and the lab manifesto is very youth friendly. YouGov models the youth turnout at 50% and predict a hung paraliament. There is hope.
These elections really do highlight how absolutely atrocious our news media is. Papers being able to print whatever the fuck they like has been the case for as long as I can remember, but when you think about this garbage influencing voters to elect a legitimately evil government into power, it makes you think we'd be better off burning the institutions down altogether and starting fresh with actual rules and standards. And the tories are planning to scrap what little regulation we have :hammered:
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBvv3-7XcAEWPI4.jpg[/t] "Vote Tory, urges newspaper owned by billionaire tax avoider"
I know I'm one to talk, being from the US and all, but this... drivel... that's really the only word I can think of to describe it... in my mind, it demonstrates an absolute lack of professionalism on the part of the editor. I don't know how you guys put up with crap like this.
I am hoping for everyone in the UK that Corbyn wins
I am hoping for everyone in the UK that Corbyn wins
I don't wanna be a downer, but after seeing the Daily Mail headline I have gotten so pessimistic about Corbyns win. If Corbyn does win however I'm :toxx: that I have to PM Craptasket a pic of my ass with my username written on a piece of paper for identification. :v: (User was banned for this post ("Toxx - If 'Corbyn Win' then 'PM Craptasket ass with ID'" - Bradyns))
It's my Discord and I was meaning to post it here, you might as well have a permanent link, we used it for the US election and I spiced it up for this one as well https://discord.gg/ZVKFnaE
I'll jump on periodically to make sure things are running smoothly.
if i get to the polls first i decide the vote for the whole country right?
It is completely legal in the UK for newspapers to create content like that during elections, however TV media cannot [editline]8th June 2017[/editline] I'll get on the ass toxx too, Corbyn to win, otherwise :toxx: ID'd photo of my gorilla ass (User was banned for this post ("Toxx - If 'Corbyn Win' then 'post ass with ID'" - Bradyns))
gonna go slap my x in jezzas box today, hopefully he wins
Couldn't this constitute infringing on freedom of the press? Also that 'blatant propaganda' is just a political bias and is present in everything, even an 'independent council'. Won't solve a thing
"freedom of the press" increasingly seems to mean the freedom of those with capital to completely and utterly dominate sociopolitical discourse with their warped narratives.
Here comes the rain again, falling on my head like a Tory landslide. Ignore the weather. Grab your lazy friends off their backsides and get out there.
Forget to get my postal vote forms for this election, sorta sad about that, was just caught up with other things not living there and all.. Sure hope that Corbyn wins though, good luck to the UK.
As a lefty from across the pond, I implore all you native brits- get out and vote, get your friends to vote, and get every person you know with thier head on straight to vote. Trump won our election becuase of indifference forwards the process. Very few rational human beings wanted trump in office- they just couldn't be bothered to vote for Hillary, either.
Voted by post this year as I'm out the country, the rest of you get there and make me proud! Not that my vote really makes a huge difference as I live in such a safe tory seat. Still gonna be an anxious day of constant refreshing the news!
As a UK trained foreigner starting to work as a doctor in the NHS I advise everyone to drink responsibly and not go over the official alcohol recommendations. As someone trying to make a life for myself and help other people in the UK, it would be a pleasure to treat alcohol related admissions due to a good cause for a change. Best of luck everyone in the country! (Please do get drunk safely and responsibly!)
Going to be voting after work today, kind of nervous. Not sure why though, since I'm just checking a box more or less. It could be because I really dislike the thought of another Tory government.
The only thing I plan on getting drunk on is party rings because I'm counting down to the end of the United Kingdom playing 'Nearer My God to Thee' the whole time.
The only thing I plan on getting drunk on is party rings because I'm counting down to the end of the United Kingdom playing 'Nearer My God to Thee' the whole time.
I'm counting down to the revival of the empire playing 'I Vow To Thee My Country'.
Theresa May greeted reporters and photographers with a cheery "hello" as she arrived with husband Philip to vote at the guide and scout hut in Sonning, Berkshire. There was a fathers' rights protester outside to greet her, alongside his mother, dressed as the Muppet, Elmo.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/election-2017-40171454?ns_linkname=59390df7e4b025bd1992574e%26Prime%20minister%20votes%26&ns_fee=0#post_59390df7e4b025bd1992574e This is the Britain we deserve. Remember to go out and vote lads, even if you're on the fence, force yourself to get out to a polling station and write something down on that ballot card. Today's the day.
I'm counting down to the revival of the empire playing 'I Vow To Thee My Country'.
The age of imperialism is over. Well, except for Russia, lately, and if you want the UK to follow a similar path and invade Belgium or France, maybe deeply reconsider your notions.
The age of imperialism is over. Well, except for Russia, lately, and if you want the UK to follow a similar path and invade Belgium or France, maybe deeply reconsider your notions.
Belgium is basically a non-country. If anything, it is time for an anglo confederation.
Got party rings and on the way voted. Sneaky Tories moved the polling station to a church, probably banking on my fear of religious buildings and objects to keep me out of there but jokes on them I used to do karate in that church so the main hall has no effect on me. Better luck next time, May.
