The large applause from UKIP getting zero votes was heartwarming.
All I see are UKIP supporters talking about how the UKIP gloriously served its purpose, saving British democracy by defeating the foul EU, and bringing forth a new golden era or some bullshit.
To be honest, this isn't too bad besides the SNP losses.
Lib dem bounce on Tory cock for 5 years (but keep them moderate in terms of human rights etc); brexit turns into a shitshow and Tories don't get elected again for 20 years.
The SNP losses are painful and I just know I am one of them. I swear, if I have to put up with that Tory weasel Colin Clark for five years I'll be fucking steamed.
i like how may already had a majority, so there was so little to gain, but so much to lose
serves you right for being smug

There's Greek tragedies with less hubris than she's shown.
Even if the tories still get a slim majority the fact that the whole thing has backfired so triumphantly brings a warm smile to my face.
I'm surprised the SNP has lost so many seats according to the polls. I know they didn't do great in the Scottish election but that's gotta smart.
So what does this mean?

The conservatives just keep calling votes they can't win, I can't believe it.
The nights not over yet thought, too early to celebrate

The Tories pretty successfully made the campaign about IndyRef2 (People are willing to trade away the NHS etc instead of voting no a second time, apparently) and also convinced coastal fishing communities that they would break the habit of a lifetime and champion the working class, and bring about a rebirth of the fishing industry.
SNP couldn't really challenge them on the latter because they know the fishing industry is dead and buried for reasons beyond the EU (Ecological/Environmental reasons)

People are sick of them pushing for another referendum.
So what does this mean?
That by tomorrow lunchtime we might not have a government at all (assuming the libdems dont sell out), meaning another election/something else I don't know what.
So what does this mean?
No party (currently) has a majority, meaning that the ones who take charge can't just pass anything they want to because they don't have a majority of votes. It means everyone has to compromise, work with other parties to pass through things or block what they don't like.
So what does this mean?
If the exit polls are accurate, the current majority party will have lost seats and the opposition party will have gained seats, and neither will be in a position to form a majority government.
People are sick of them pushing for another referendum.
Yep, as said, idiots would rather lose the NHS, bring about cheerful things like the Rape Clause and Bedroom tax, instead of just voting "no" a second time.

There's two problems that lead to this imo:
#1 - SNP have been in power a long time. Naturally after a long period in power, support drops somewhat.
#2 - labour surge. A lot of center left voters in Scotland don't want independence - that much we found out in 2014. A good number voted SNP anyway as labour was in turmoil. Now that labour has a "strong and stable" genuine leader (left wing, pulled center by his party); they move back to labour. The only credible right wing vote in Scotland is tory, so this will lead to Tory gains.
Funny how they're getting people that can't vote to carry the boxes.
So what does this mean?
IF the exit polls are exactly how it will turn out then either a minority government with the Conservatives or a hung parliament with a collation government.
wonder what voter turnout we'll get this time, it does seem to have mobilised a lot of people

It's a shame because I like the SNP's policies in general but everything is overshadowed by fuckin' independence.
I'm not even opposed to independence but it gets so old.

Tbh the only parties talking about independence this election were labour, Tories and lib Dems.
Wee Ruth was so fascinated by the subject she forgot to have policies.
Anyway to watch the BBC coverage in Canada? iPlayer is geofenced
There's one thing I'm willing to say for certain.
Theresa May is fucking fired. Turning a 200 seat lead into a negative number? She'll be out on her damn ear.
Do the Lib Dems really have so much in common with the conservatives that they'd be willing to support their government even though they got assfucked the last time around (assuming it becomes a relevant matter in the first place)?

"Tory Queen of Scots" made me cringe so much

Finally.
Assuming we don't just find the inevitable Tory landslide down the back of the sofa at some point tonight-
I don't doubt the Lib Dems would sell out a second time, but at least it would be the end of them once and for all if they did.
I'm still of the opinion that they were so for legalisation policy because they know you would have to be fucking high to vote for them after what they did last time.

Its deliberate, there was a nice tweet that laid that SNP MPs (Different to MSPs, mind) have barely mentioned Independence at Westminster, and instead have carried out their duties in a way to make the left proud. But the media and their opposition likes to present it as them constantly harping on about Independence because it nicely discredits them.

One thing I've learnt from this election is nobody can fucking pronounce negotiate.
Tim Farron has said that they plan on being on the opposition, no matter which government is in.
Great that they've appeared to have gained 6 seats though.

Yeah, it was hilarious listening to her accusing the SNP of going on about it and then the Scottish Conservative Manifesto mentions it an order of magnitude more times than the SNP one (I think the word Independence was used 8 times at most in the SNP one, it was 20+ for the ScotCon manifesto)
Apparently a shitload of young people have been turned away being told they're not registered. For fuck's sake, can we just have a clean vote for once?
Is that even legal? Because it's definitely not in Canada at least.
