Real hardcore ballots
We still on exit polls or are these the actual tallies?
Actual tallies - though we only have a few at the moment.
There will be a big number of seats declaring around 1.30/ 2am so we will know a lot more then.
Labour is not going to have a chance to do that,
Maybe not, but conservatives don't have a clear shot at getting a Queen's speech through either based on the exit poll. The parties could accept a minor labour government, even if it is a slim chance.
Anyway off to bed now. Hoping to wake up to good news.

An important hold for Labour
Darlington boys.
We do it
The Tories REALLY needed Darlington. That's a good sign right there.
Seems there's been a strong "get fucked UKIP" theme to the results so far as well, and I am absolutely in favour of this.

You've been clutching at every anti Labour straw since Corbyn was elected leader the first time and I'm sorry but I'd love to see you be wrong yet again.

Nah, the Conservatives have a pretty safe way to get a Queen's speech through.
If we take the exit poll numbers: 314 CON + 8 DUP = 322 Seats which takes them just over the 321 seats needed for a working majority.
I explained the maths a few days ago here:
It's actually even more complicated than that:
650 seats means that anything over 325 is an absolute majority.
650 seats in the House of Commons
- 1 seat (for the Speaker who doesn't vote)
- 3 seats (for the deputy speakers who don't vote)
- 4 seats (for Sinn Fein who don't take their seats)
So that leaves 642 seats who can vote, thus needing >321 seats for a relative majority.
Also, any seat the Conservatives take reduces the opposition: every seat over the 321 figures is effectively a 2 seat majority.
322 Con Seats v 320 Oppo Seats = a majority of 2
323 Con Seats v 319 Oppo Seats = a majority of 4
350 Con Seats v 292 Oppo Seats = a majority of 58 etc.
The trend works in reverse too, so every seat the Opposition takes from the Conservatives reduces their majority by 2.
Big up my old home of Berwickshire on the BBC. For all the wrong reasons.
Angus going Tory is suspect. Driving around there recently I've seen nothing by SNP boards, but then Tory voters up here tend to stay pretty quiet.

Angus is going Blue? Shite.
mate can you pack the doom and gloom in for the night until we have the results? you say this in every bloody thread
It's not doom and gloom, even the exit polls, which seem fairly optimistic, would not allow labour to form a government.
This sure has got interesting and fun to read up now that I'm back from work.
Wonder how much more of the country is gonna go red.
Watching this game with an odd sense of serenity, like the Tory Empire we were expecting has failed to materialise. Maybe it's too soon, but it has yet to be a huge upset for Labour. I'd prefer a hung parliament or tiny majority now - especially given May is fucked. I fucking hate smug politicians, but I'm feeling slightly smug right about now.
Worse, though, is that I decided to go to Tesco for snacks at 11:05PM. It closed at 11. Fucking Tesco Express.
The Wrexham announcement is like Eurovision
Wrexham a labour hold, that was predicted to be a conserv area earlier iirc, bodes well for the rest of Wales

Slightly unexpected, was expected to go to the conservatives this time. Really good news for the rest of tonight
So far Tories have failed to gain every anticipated constituency, yes?
