In a roundabout way these polls could backfire on Labour, a lot of tory voters could have been complacent because it was a predicted landslide, now the turnout for the tories might be higher. The bbc explain the prediction model used by yougov is complicated, it sounds more like a lottery to me. Other pollsters have the gap at 10%. http://www.bbc.com/news/election-2017-39856354 lol
that might be the case, but its somewhat undeniable that the tories led a shitty campaign, having started out with a lot of support and we are now in a position where they could very well lose seats
Equally a lot of previous non-voters see an avenue for change in Corbyn and the Labour manifesto. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything beyond an uncomfortable tory majority, but don't count anything out. A lot of people are suffering under austerity.
Don't worry I am not, I am trying to temper my expectations so I don't wake up the morning after and spend the rest of the day feeling like a twat for hoping Corbyn could do it. I'd love it if it could happen, I'd be over the moon! But I don't want to get my hopes up.
that might be the case, but its somewhat undeniable that the tories led a shitty campaign, having started out with a lot of support and we are now in a position where they could very well lose seats
I agree, although I'm not convinced with either of them.
I like post-defeat Miliband.

Since that's been over he's shown some actual enthusiasm about things that we just didn't see.
With one week to go, it's up to Seamus Milne and Lynton Crosby to rally the troops.
I almost admire this tbh, she recognised the attack on her and takes him down confidently but she is so vague about everything, "we need a strong economy" doesn't answer "how are you actually planning to fund the NHS" at all and that's why I don't trust her, she's getting pretty good at dodging questions though
Here's some more high-quality verbal gymnastics.
It is somewhat a shame he was such a wet towel during his actual campaigning. Since that's been over he's shown some actual enthusiasm about things that we just didn't see.
His campaign never recovered from that picture of him eating a bacon sandwich.

Britain Elects just released their own projection. http://britainelects.com/nowcast/ Not sure I trust them since they are fairly new, but I've been using them as a poll aggregator for a while. Tories set to gain 30 seats according to this, UK looking very blue. I hope it's not true.
I fucking hope it's not true. The election isn't over yet and I'm considering changing my immediate relocation plans for Perth with a language course and long term relocation plans out of the UK. Fuck knows where to with my lack of quals. This country is going to fall apart.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't doubt if that were true. That result (a 9% lead) is essentially the middle ground between the 15-20 point lead the tories had before the election was called. I hope labour surges even more, but a 10 point increase is already quite a lot for such a short time period.
I feel like there's really only two possible outcomes. Tory majority, or hung parliament resulting in either Tory Lib Dem coalition or a minority government. There's literally no way Labour are going to get a majority, and they've completely unequivocally ruled out any kind of deal with any other party.

Going backwards - although with Corbyn at the helm, it wouldn't surprise me. The only people that I've seen talking about him "warming up" are those that are already committed to voting Labour anyway.
If this actually works out for Theresa May it's a pretty shocking indictment of this country.

Labour gets 4% more votes than they did before and loses 26 seats.
If that holds up then it's a bit sad. Labour gets 4% more votes than they did before and loses 26 seats.
Fortunately there is still a little time, it takes only a couple of percent to change it completely.
Actually the Tories have a whole wealth of political talent waiting in the wings. Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, Liam Fox, Savid Javid, Stephen Crabb, Amber Rudd and George Osborne, just to name a handful. It's Labour, whose talent is so absolutely moribund that Corbyn was able to win their leadership twice. Whilst any potential statesmen within the party such as Hilary Benn, or Dan Jarvis are vilified by the membership as "Blairites".
Rudd, Gove, Javid and Osborne maybe. (I don't like their politics but they seem competent) Gove is a liar but at least I can appreciate his "fuck over friends, allies and everyone you know for a shot at power" attitude. It would almost be like watching house of cards but then you realise when he wants to reform prisons to be for profit its actually real life and the consequences of his ideas would be dire. Osborne won't be seen in an important position anytime soon, the tories are going in a new direction leaving him n the cameroons behind. He may be a coked up toff who hates the poor but I appreciate his stance and Brexit and honestly I prefer him to May's troupe of loops. Besides he's getting better pay doing speeches, editing the London Evening Standard and helping people exploit tax loopholes - why would he accept a more stressful, lower paid job? I suppose he might try to get in the cabinet again if it meant he was able to continue funnelling treasury money to Evgeny Lebedev. But Boris Johnson? He's literally the court jester. Literally. He's kept there as a scapegoat on which shit can be blamed when it inevitably goes wrong. He's so out of his depth, he looks uncomfortable, he shifts around, he blunders, he chats shit, he gaffs like there's no tomorrow and he lies through his teeth and covers it up with verbal diarrhoea and an adorable head of hair. Delicious moist cake. The disgraced former defence secretary, Dr Liam "British companies are too fat and lazy" Fox is an idiot who doesn't know what hes talking about (on brexit), as defence sec had the highest expense claims and risked leaking data from the DoD. He's a big name but also a big liability and a big waste of space. Also a Liar, how anyone can support him after the repeated lies he has told you I'll never know. Stephen "gays are sexually broken" Crabb is not fit to be a politician let alone experienced enough to be anything more important than a sideline yes man. Buncho creepers if you ask me. Some, I assume, are good people. [editline]2nd June 2017[/editline]
If this actually works out for Theresa May it's a pretty shocking indictment of this country.
Probably will, but it's given lots of hope and restored hope in labour (policy wise) Maybe too the young people will realise them not voting actually changes stuff and come next general they'll be nudged into doing the right thing.
If this actually works out for Theresa May it's a pretty shocking indictment of this country.
This is exactly what I'm worried about. If people have their fingers in their ears this badly as to either not vote or vote for the party that's on a platform of ruining people's lives, I don't want to share a country with them anymore. We're going down a racist nationalist slope where the only issues that matter are related to foreigners and I don't think we're going to come back from it. I'm looking at Ireland - I just need to get out.

Very bad timing for the conservatives.

Its good news but isn't London generally Labour anyway?
Its good news but isn't London generally Labour anyway?
It's a national poll :) London is labelled separately:

In that case: very good news feel like I should get out there and campaign
In that case: very good news feel like I should get out there and campaign
Yeah, I feel like it too. I think Labour have a site with events all around, have a look. Got it: https://events.labour.org.uk/
If May still gets a major majority then what the fuck is wrong with people - how can you vote for someone who doesn't show up to any debate and who's only policy is trying to attack Corbyn and shit on just about everyone by lying to them whilst spewing "strong and stable".
I guess it's because of the uncertain times, and a general slightly conservative bent among the average British person in general terms (not party support). The Tories also seem to have a slight advantage over bringing in people from the centre alignment of politics for now. But then we have the diehard supporter of the way Theresa and her merry band of goons want to erode the freedom of the average British citizen to give themselves more power and control over the population of the country, because they fear what they don't understand. Those people are the real problem when it comes to eroding the Tory support base, them and the "fuck you got mine" types.
Imagine if Corbyn walked in on May during QT tonight. Throw down the gauntlet then and there :v: No excuses about counting media appearances when they're in the same building.
