Given the circumstances, yes. Labour come up smelling of roses while the weak and wobbly Tories fuck it all up.
I'm hoping we see a complete reversal of the polls - with Labour ahead and tories well behind. We will see over next few days, I guess.
When an ultra-zealous Northern Irish party has more power than the second, third and forth largest parties in the country you know the system is broke.
I didn't stay up at all to watch the live results, but I'm somewhat shocked at it all. It's nice to see the likes of Lord Buckethead, Elmo, and Mr Fishfinger throughout the news coverage though, seeing them is a nice change to the usual doom and gloom.
Yeah it certainly made me laugh. I'm quite worried about tories partnering with the DUP they seem a bit extreme.
Honestly, this is the best result I could have asked for as I knew Labour would not have won. As much as I dislike that the Tories will still being power, I'm happy that May's power grab failed horribly and Labour gained seats. My area stayed Labour (won with a 12k vote majority) which made me feel good to be part of it.
They could not do it, there are not enough non-Conservative seats in order to do that.
Yeah, miscounted the results from being so tired
My seat still went Conservative, but it went from a 3000-3500 majority to about 1350. Each election since it switched to them in 2010 has seen that majority start to melt away.
When an ultra-zealous Northern Irish party has more power than the second, third and forth largest parties in the country you know the system is broke.
Politics makes for strange bedfellows. Just ask a certain pig.
Yeah it certainly made me laugh. I'm quite worried about tories partnering with the DUP they seem a bit extreme.
They'd still only have a majority of about 2 seats, and after may trying to target some of the left leaning voters to go tory teaming up with the DUP seems to again be flip-flopping. In short I'd be surprised if such a coalition lasts, and then with 2 seats it won't hold that much power anyway. Also seems that the DUP wants to keep the open border as its top priority, so a hard brexit would be out of the question already.
Politics makes for strange bedfellows. Just ask a certain pig.
I'm sorry, Oinker isn't available, would you like me to take a message?
It just dawned on me that Boris has a chance of being the next PM since May is most likely going to get the boot. Christ.
From one bungler to another in that case.
You know, i think i dreamt that it was a tory landslide. Thank lord that's not the case, i would had juet gone back to bed. Im not entirely sure what happened to the SNP, if im honest. I will have to read up on thay. Scottish Labour isnt... Too bad i think? I think anyone would not turn their nose up on that. but it's hilarious to hear the torys say that our dream for independance is dead. I just hope Corbyn stays around after this.
It just dawned on me that Boris has a chance of being the next PM since May is most likely going to get the boot. Christ.
At thus point i cant even tell if thats a good thing or a bad thing. Most likely a bad thing. But also a good thing because he'll be an embarrassment to the Torys. But it would be tempting fate to ask what the worst that could happen.

This will doubtlessly weaken May's negotiating position with the EU. Bad for all of us, but that's par for the course with the tories
My safe Tory constituency saw the Labour vote more than double over 2015 and the Tory majority reduced to the lowest it's been since 1997. Not bad for a town with more centenarians than any other.
This election is what happens when young people actually vote. Great to see no matter your political views.

So the only way the Tories can possibly turn this around... is by forming a Coalition of chaos™... with Irish extremists? :sbhj:
Dunno if it was posted, but this happened.
Reading about the DUP's policies... Wtf Irish people??
Hey man, don't lump us all in with the DUP. If you took the whole island most of us would be against them.

He's like Ned Kelly but more
These Bloodborne DLC characters are getting weirder and weirder.
The DUP are absolute scum and definitely not the sort of people that should be in government. Theyre more extremist than UKIP. For everyone calling them Irish as well, DUP and their supporters hate everything Irish and are obsessed with their British identity. You would risk get assaulted by a DUP supporter if you even suggested they were remotely Irish.
DUP are super retarded, but they have some concessions on Brexit that should hopefully limit a hard Brexit.
DUP were also incredibly against the GFA and anything that had to deal with peace between NI and Ireland They also supported various ulster extremist and terrorist as well (?)
What other choice do the Tories realistically have for forming their coalition?
The tories would sell their Souls to the devil to keep their clingy hands onto power so they'll gladly make a deal with them. Doesn't mean it's not stupid. [editline]9th June 2017[/editline]
DUP were also incredibly against the GFA and anything that had to deal with peace between NI and Ireland They also supported various ulster extremist and terrorist as well (?)
They're still closely linked with unionist terror groups. The UDA promoted some of the DUP candidates in this election and the leader met with the UDA leader before the election.
No matter what happens, even a tiny number of rebel MPs are going to cause government action to grind to a standstill, especially with the famously stubborn and uncooperative DUP. I'd agree with the pundits, we might have another election in a few months.

Won £30 on hung parliment, if somehow Corbyn gets in I'll be an ever happier man.
