UK General Election Day and Results: 'Parliament is Well Hung.'

What's going on with Kensington? It still has not declared but a lot of people are saying that Labour have won by 30-ish votes. They've requested a third recount apparently, unsure how recent the news is.
friendly reminder that if 3 DUP or Tory MP's resign or aren't present for a vote, that it will swing the Commons into chaos
It's happening in Australia with the ruling party having power on a knife edge
And considering how fractured the Tory party has been recently it's not unforseeable that a few rogue elements might start causing some serious shit.
Could be May not getting rid of Boris might come back to bite her.

I give it a year
She's finishing Brexit and then fucking off.
Really? All I saw was the tweet last night saying she'll step down if they lose the majority, and then NYT saying this morning she's expected to stay with a minority government. And now a WaPo article saying she's gonna "lead Britain forward," with some speculation that she won't last long.
She's finishing Brexit and then fucking off.
Thank goodness all shes doing is "finishing brexit" and then fucking off.
...
...
wait, I'm hearing that she's also going to decrease my internet security and get rid of human rights laws. I don't want that
So much of Scotland turned blue, it's fucking disgusting. The Tories have done absolutely no good here in the last 7 years, they have blatantly ignored us and their manifesto will benefit us in no way. I am so disappointed in my country.

All that talk about "coalition of chaos" is so sweetly ironic.
She's finishing Brexit and then fucking off.
That's assuming her government doesn't collapse at any point in the next two years. Parliament won't put up with constant rebellions by backbench DUP or Tory MPs, so she needs to stop being such a wet rag and either unite the party better or pull tighter on the leash. At this point I don't think anyone is confident she can pull it off.

The third recount starts at 6pm.

It has been going on all day. They broke off from counting early on because they thought it was too close to call so all went to bed. Now they realize that it isn't so are counting it time and again just to be sure.

She knows she can't stay in the party for the long term, and the party knows she knows. So she will probably end up finishing off Brexit, which will, for her, salvage some sort of reputation, enough to get an honor or something, then step out of politics. Shes the Brexit sacrificial lamb, it there is no EU-UK deal made, then she takes the fall, if not, she maybe gets to last another 2 years until the end of her term and probably step down.

Oh I hope she does a good job!
Because everything else she's done recently has worked out so well!

ugh Farage is threatening to come back.
what multitude of unforgivable sins did we commit to to deserve this? Is this gods ultimate and final punishment for taking the apple from the tree?

I'm surprised Tories aren't calling for her to resign. She's already managed to substantially weaken their position.

Seems to me the snp were banking on the indyref2 support like how the lib dems were banking on the remain vote. But both camps just want to move on.

We might see more in the next couple of days, but they know their in thin ice, too much movement and it breaks. They'll probably leave her to do Brexit.

Would be amusing. Flaunting T May as the Strong and Stable person to Lead us through Brexit then wheeling her away and giving people someone else. How conservatives can stand the Conservatives is anybodies guess; delusion? desperation? self degradation?

Unfortunately it would kind of fuck with the Brexit negotiations.

Maybe not. She insists on being chief negotiator despite that roll taking an unrealistic amount of time from being Pm. If they got someone with less hubris perhaps we could get a realistic negotiation team together. Ideally someone who doesn't start by accusing the EU of being baddies and doesn't describe themselves as "bloody difficult" like they're some kind of impudent child.

I'm not sure the Tories are going to be able to find a suitable candidate tbh.

Basically the SNP vote split between them, Labour and Lib Dems, with the Tories hoovering up Pro-Brexiters and Anti-Indy people because that was the entirety of their campaign :(
DUP is screwed next election.
I'm not sure the Tories are going to be able to find a suitable candidate tbh.
True.
Anybody smart enough to take the job is smart enough not to take it.

Given the situation at the moment that would only bugger things up more. Where this just a normal election and there was not the Brexit negotiations in a few days time she'd be on her arse. But as a matter of practicality she cannot really step a side.
I cannot see her standing in the next election, however soon that may be.

Boris Johnson is a popular candidate because he has silly hair and he called Jeremy Corbyn a "mugwump" (????)
At the very least, Brexit was always going to be a mess and now the Tories will definitely be hit hard for it. May has done a fantastic job of damaging the whole party's reputation and their credibility will continue down the shitter until she's replaced. Even The Sun is reporting against her and a "coalition of chaos".

To be fair, she did warn about a coalition of chaos with terrorist sympathisers. She just didn't highlight that she'd be leading it.
So question, and please forgive my ignorance, but is there anyway for them to remove May? Like a vote of no confidence or something?
There are obvious grounds for a leadership challenge given that her failure to lead a campaign (or even debate) turned a projected landslide victory into losing their majority. The thing is, the Brexit negotiations are just around the corner and nobody will want to inherit that mess. So they're damned if they do, damned if they don't. In my opinion, the best thing the Tories could do for themselves is settling the Brexit business before ousting her and pretending she never existed.
Jonathan Powell, a former chief government negotiator on Northern Ireland, has told the BBC that a Conservative coalition with the DUP will make it virtually impossible to resolve the political crisis in Northern Ireland and risked "undoing 20 years of good work" there.
The [Conservative government] have made themselves dependent on the DUP. Every morning when they wake up, the only way the government can go on is if the DUP agrees to support it.
Since 1991, for good reasons, the British government has always been neutral in Northern Ireland. We haven't taken sides between unionists and nationalists and republicans. Theresa May has made herself a hostage to the DUP. That means she can't be an independent mediator between the two sides.
We've got to set this executive up, the British government has been trying to go backwards and forwards between the two sides. Now we are on one side. The DUP can pull the chain at any moment.
Mr Powell said he believed the prospects of establishing power "are almost zero" without a neutral party as go-between.
The political deadlock in Northern Ireland came about after the collapse of a DUP-Sinn Fein coalition.
A snap election in March brought an end to Stormont's unionist majority and the DUP's lead over Sinn Féin was cut from 10 seats to one.
Earlier Michelle O'Neill, Sinn Fein's leader in Northern Ireland, said the party was eager to get back to power-sharing.
