That's what I thought, So that's going to make it pretty hard for them to lure UKIP fans away from Labour en mass.
Labour didn't poach voters from UKIP, Labour took Tory seats, UKIP voters mostly turned into Tory voters, and the DUP doesn't quite care much for Nigel Farage or UKIP voters as the main thing they are is a Unionist party, and secondly, they're against hard Brexit.

I would say it was about a 60/40 split, with 60 going to conservatives and 40 to labour.

Either way, UKIP is currently a non-factor having lost all seats in both local councils and parliament, and I doubt any attempt to restart the party will have any traction if the DUP-Tory coalition goes through.
The one good thing to come out of this, kinda countered by Farage coming back to troll everyone though.
To be honest I fail to see what kind of play he's making here, hard Brexit is pretty much done for. He must be collecting favours to stay in the government.
Farage already said that because he wasn't invited to take part in negotiations, he would of taken the opportunity if asked, that he basically achieved what he wanted to, he had no reason to stick around. However even back then he did warn he would rejoin politics if the government was beginning to look like it had failed to deliver or was going back on key points etc. We are still on course for Hard Brexit, negotiations even before starting aren't looking good probably leading to the UK dropping out with no deal. Already off to a good start: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/eu-brexit-talks-delay-theresa-may-election-2017-result-stance-negotiate-uk-prime-minister-a7785346.html
Delays? Just rip the bandaid off already
Have they forgotten Nigel pretty much bailed out the moment the Brexit results were announced?
More to the point, have they not seen videos of Farage's performance at the EU parliament when he did attend? He got his ass handed to him, they ran rings around him. A mental heavyweight he isn't.

If this does happen then a no deal is seriously a huge possibility.
Farage already said that because he wasn't invited to take part in negotiations, he would of taken the opportunity if asked, that he basically achieved what he wanted to, he had no reason to stick around.
This Farage guy sounds like a real piece of shit.
This Farage guy sounds like a real piece of shit.
He's a sour bean for sure, but he's better than Nutall. It would make sense to have him negotiate Brexit considering how much of a hand he had in it, but if he runs into familiar faces from the European Parliament it's going to be big trouble. I actually enjoyed seeing him there. His whole shtick was formulating the eurosceptic sentiment in a way that does not sound outlandish or entirely retarded. I'm eager to see what he can come up with when asked for more than a shower of empty words. UKIP might be a cesspool of confusionist fucks but Nige is one crafty lad.
This Farage guy sounds like a real piece of shit.
He's pretty good.
He's pretty good.

I know that virtually none of you have ever done a proper job in your lives.
I'm still convinced that the primary motivation of Farage, UKIP and anyone claiming to support them is first and foremost trolling.
I'm still convinced that the primary motivation of Farage, UKIP and anyone claiming to support them is first and foremost trolling.
That's mostly what being a sceptic in parliament entails. Trolling. What can be said of the UK in the EU is that after coming in late thanks to Charles "asshat" De Gaulle, is they have always had one leg through the exit. The whole Farage experience is much more digestible if you look at it as accelerationism. He's been great entertainment too.
I really don't buy the whole accelerationism thingy. Unless you're talking about accelerating into the world being in a sad state it doesn't seem like a realistic expectation to me.
I really don't buy the whole accelerationism thingy. Unless you're talking about accelerating into the world being in a sad state it doesn't seem like a realistic expectation to me.
Sorry my Deleuze is all over the place today. There's obviously little in the way of accelerationism as far as Farage is concerned other than people who voted leave for bants. I think one of the reasons you can look at thinks like Lexit one year into this debacle is that you have on one hand a british trend of resisting globalization in the form of never adopting the common currency (mitigated but relevant) and on the other hand a principle of sovereignty which is less about immigration control than it is about britain's control over their own infrastructure. As far as those two are concerned I find that Nigel has gotten quite crafty at tiptoeing party lines that aren't his so as to not alienate potential sympathizers, and this is something you don't find in other UKIP reps. It's not so much about Farage being an accelerationist (I apologize for this horrible formulation) but more about him doing some diligent work on his compatibility with differing ideologies including accelerationism
He's pretty good.

I know that virtually none of you have ever done a proper job in your lives.
ah yes this part where literally behind him there was a heart surgeon who grew up in the soviet union or something similar.
He's pretty good.
Nigel Farage is a slimy git who doesn't really give a shit about the little people. Then there's also the hypocrisy, like this
But the biggest problem you've got, and the reason, the main reason the United Kingdom voted the way it did is you have, by stealth, by deception, without ever telling the truth to the British or the rest of the peoples of Europe...
As said by the man who lead a campaign filled with lies and deception
ah yes this part where literally behind him there was a heart surgeon who grew up in the soviet union or something similar.
He uses it to pit people against those EU politicians then offers himself as the alternative. "Those politicians are corrupt, they've never worked a day in their life, they're metropolitan elites who are out of touch and want to do bad things" Tell people something is bad then tell them you're different and you are going to fix it. Rich coming from a tax avoider who refuses to publish his tax returns, doesn't do his job as MEP (40 attendance rate) and misuses EU funds. If only people could see through his facade of "funny charismatic man who cares about people and drinks pints"
ah yes this part where literally behind him there was a heart surgeon who grew up in the soviet union or something similar.
he didn't just grow up in the Soviet Union he's a heart surgeon born in a gulag in Siberia who then joined the underground Social Democrat movement against the USSR who then founded an underground university holding illegal materials and books, teaching people forbidden things like humanism and democracy who then was arrested and questioned by the KGB who then was stymied in attempting to become a doctor due to not being a communist NOT A PROPER DAY'S WORK
nigel is extremely obviously involved with russian and putin dealings, he's hilarious http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/nigel-farage-julian-assange-meeting-ecuadorian-embassy-london-wikileaks-russia-today-rt-interview-a7728891.html I'm trying to find the exact interview where he claims he had a secret meeting with julian assange for "journalistic purposes"
he didn't just grow up in the Soviet Union he's a heart surgeon born in a gulag in Siberia who then joined the underground Social Democrat movement against the USSR who then founded an underground university holding illegal materials and books, teaching people forbidden things like humanism and democracy who then was arrested and questioned by the KGB who then was stymied in attempting to become a doctor due to not being a communist NOT A PROPER DAY'S WORK
I don't understand how anyone can see Nigel Farage as anything but a slimeball. He is guilty of basically everything his supporters profess to hate, from employing underpaid Lithuanians to produce and distribute UKIP leaflets instead of "PROPAH BRISH WORKAHS" to exploiting his status as an MEP to line his pockets instead of working to iron out the issues his fans had with the EU to begin with. If anyone had the power to take British people's complaints to the EU, then as an MEP, it was him. But instead he would rather show up as little as possible without losing his paychecks, and when he did bother to show up, it was only to do childish shit like sit on his desk backwards and insult everyone in the room like some kind of rebellious middle school muppet would to a supply teacher. Even the faintest skimming of research into the dude shows him up as little more than an ex-tory who figured out he could bring home a bigger pay-check if he appealed to people's xenophobia with empty promises instead of "doing a proper job".
he didn't just grow up in the Soviet Union he's a heart surgeon born in a gulag in Siberia ..
I get that it's popular to rag on Nige, but does the word 'most' not register with you guys or what
I get that it's popular to rag on Nige, but does the word 'most' not register with you guys or what
lol have the comprehensive version then he's still a shitball
I get that it's popular to rag on Nige, but does the word 'most' not register with you guys or what
Considering his job before he got into politics was a commodity trader, it's still inappropriate. Dude pushed paper for a living before he became an MEP with a 40% attendance rate and then has the stones to accuse a room full of people of being slackers. Hypocrisy at its finest.
I get that it's popular to rag on Nige, but does the word 'most' not register with you guys or what
Actually, no from what I can see, we're not ragging hard enough on Nigel Farage.
I get that it's popular to rag on Nige, but does the word 'most' not register with you guys or what
The usage of most is still incredibly innaccurate, as Turnips5 showed. Nige is only really addressing himself when he says that
