Theresa decided to pay a visit to the tower. Apparently a few firefighters have been saying that thanks to cuts to the fire service, it was harder to put out. Can't imagine she got a good reception.

Another private visit. Didn't join Corbyn in meeting any of the residents or volunteers. Even now, she hasn't learned a thing.
Queen's Speech going ahead next Wednesday - DUP deal or no DUP deal. Either could go very badly for her.

can all of you guys educate your grandparents by giving them something other then the sun to read
that jump in Labour support from 35-44's and 45-54's is excellent though, as if it wasn't obvious obvious enough how hard Theresa's screwed the pooch
In all honesty it's probably for the best May didn't lose. Her victory was so pathetic and weak that she'll be almost impossible to support going forward as she continues to drop the ball
But then again people surprise me constantly with what they support

Amazing.
Thats great start for Corbyn popularity.
But then again people surprise me constantly with what they support
I believe YouGov is reporting an increase in Brexit support, especially Hard Brexit.
Why was Corbyn so darn unpopular in the first place? As a non-brit that always seemed weird to me.

Rupert Murdoch.

Does the gutter press really have that much of a grip on people's opinion?

Sadly.

It all went sideways once he started coming out against having nuclear deterrence. Leading on to getting classed as a borderline communist on some of his other policies.

So basically, tabloid magazines being shit and the people dumb
It all went sideways once he started coming out against having nuclear deterrence. Leading on to getting classed as a borderline communist on some of his other policies.
How does being against nuclear deterrence make one a communist? The USSR were among the most armed, I don't really follow.
It all went sideways once he started coming out against having nuclear deterrence. Leading on to getting classed as a borderline communist on some of his other policies.
I think he 'started' coming out against having nuclear weapons long before most of facepunch was born.
How does being against nuclear deterrence make one a communist? The USSR were among the most armed, I don't really follow.
As I said, it was his other policies that they started calling him a communist on, it was the wanting to scrap the nuclear deterrence that triggered the whole media into bashing him and policies.
I think he 'started' coming out against having nuclear weapons long before most of facepunch was born.
Of course, but now he was leader of the opposition, coming up to an election and not wanting to renew the nuclear weapon program.
It all went sideways once he started coming out against having nuclear deterrence. Leading on to getting classed as a borderline communist on some of his other policies.
It went sideways from when he first became leader of the party
People accusing momentum of being some antifa tier thugs.
People accusing Corbyn of being a communist
People accusing Corbyn's supporters for being sexists/homophobes/antisemites
From day 1 he had near the entire establishment against him, most of the papers reporting the worst and spreading untruths. His own MPs trying to force him out. From day 1 people called him un-electable.

The "whole media" was against him from day 1 dude.

He may be opposed to trident but his party isn't and his parties policy isn't. He didn't use the whip to force the MPs to vote with him against it because he respects democracy and seeks to be a representative of the parties wishes.

This. I have been following from the beginning. I was even swayed by the establishment at one point, I'm sure if you go through my post history far enough you'll find me attacking him.
He hasn't actually done anything wrong - especially with this whole anti-semitism bullshit, which is completely untrue.

I was pretty critical of his lack lustre performance during brexit but I understand he was separate from the remain campaign and has fairly heavy criticisms of the EU so I think he was pretty divided.
I was pretty critical of his homeopathy thing which he later came out against.
I was pretty critical how often he seemed a little too... soft. Like being polite is good but imo a leader needs to be a bit authoritative (not authoritarian)
All in all thought hes better than Owen Smith and the other challengers and far far far better than Tories. His policies are fairly inline with mine and that Labour manifesto was truly excellent.

A lot of would be supporters were turned by the smear campaigns too. So many on these forums were fervently opposed as they were CONVINCED that he was unelectable, low energy, had terrible policies, was causing his own MPs to backstab him (never understood that as a point against corbyn), sending Labour too far left (the left is dead, don't you know), etc etc. All very quiet now.
Does the gutter press really have that much of a grip on people's opinion?
There is an abundance of the old and uneducated in this country, and people will happily lap up anything thrown their way from MSM or social media 'news' without actually doing any of their own research or coming to their own conclusions (This is not to say all right wing/Tory voters are old or uneducated, mind you).
Everyone apart from the super rich would benefit from Labour policies and they're voting against their own self interests - and that's really upsetting, especially when their seeming lack of knowledge fucks the rest of us over big time. Public opinion is slowly shifting and a Labour majority at some point in the near future seems to be inevitable, it's just taking it's sweet time is all.
Corbyn heading to Glastonbury :v:

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Theresa May resign purely on the grounds of having enough already. Three terrorist attacks, the election and now this? I would feel for her if she showed any kind of compassion.
This really seems like how a premiership ends

What a fucking coward bitch. Just fucking face your people. Say SOMETHING. You are supposed to be a leader. Jesus christ.

This probably doesn't help though. Old people getting access to even trashier and more tabloidy crap on the internet gives them further access to uneducated echochambers.

She's probably been told not to due to security concerns.
She's probably been told not to due to security concerns.
As if anything she could say would be anything more than hollow platitudes. She did kinda prove the crowd's point though.

Yeah but the fucking QUEEN thought it safe enough to go meet people. So thats bullshit.
