What are you guys - a bunch of men in their late fifties? Your hate for anything that's modern is just totally out of hand. Take off your nostalgia goggles and start being members of the 21st century.
How about no. I'll listen to what i want to, and you can listen to what you want to. Don't tell me what i can't enjoy.
The music industry has changed a lot, and we're losing a lot of the emotional connection that music had for the sort of stuff Katy Perry sings about (excluding some of her other songs, like Teenage Dream, which is in-part about acting like a teenager all over again with Russel Brand). It's been like that for over 30 years though, and that's always been only about 1/4 of the industry anyway. And there's nothing wrong with music that's there for the sake of being fun and silly, as long as it's only a small part of the industry. Most pop artists are still putting their heart and soul into their work (GaGa, Ke$ha, ADELE, for examples).
