If the government would provide me with everything I need I would happily give up all my wages in taxes. And it's not money out of your paycheck, it's money going into your paycheck through a different route, you benefit from taxes, taxes affect you less than not having taxes would. Examples of things are part of defining them, if you can't make examples fit your definition and instead just say, "Yeah, well, it doesn't matter" then I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with your definition.
